Phil Moffett said Friday he's willing to "go to the carpet" to legalize the production of industrial hemp in Kentucky. The Louisville businessman voiced support for industrial hemp in a question and answer session with libertarian voters in Lexington on Thursday and again Friday in an interview with The Associated Press.

    • I hope the Democrats have the sense to not let the Republicans make this an 'us against them' issue, cause they will lose. Cannabis hemp crosses party lines. The party that comes out supporting cannabis for medicine and hemp for industry, will gain much support. So, if they both do it, it would be a win, win for our economy and our environment.

Cannabis hemp is environmentally friendly and 100% biodegradable. There are so many uses for the plant, it would be a work in progress for years to come. New environmental friendly industry could flourish in America. It would be a win, win for farmers and industrial workers. Machines to cultivate and process the hemp would be needed. Jobs, jobs, jobs.

It's time for Democrats to grab the reins of this issue and move it along. Cannabis hemp should be reclassified, allowing the conversation to begin. Richard Nixon left office in shame, but left this shameful policy behind and politicians have spun it for political gain. Facts be damned, cause they were allowed to 'spin' disinformation with no accountability.

    • Instead of subsidizing corn, they should be subsidizing hemp...it would keep a lot of outdoor medical ganja from being sinsemilla though
