Tea Party president jokes about murdering GLBTQ people

Image

A Facebook exchange:

Dennis Scranton: "I think fruits are decorative. Hang up where they can be seen and appreciated. Call Wyoming for display instructions."

Tim Ravndal: "@Kieth, OOPS I forgot this aint(sic) America no more! @ Dennis, Where can I get that Wyoming printed instruction manual?"

(A reference to the torture and murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming in 1998). Randval has apologized. But the organization has not yet met demands to remove himl from office.

What's it going to be, Tea Party and sympathizers? Are you going to have the guy who thinks murdering gays is hilarious as your president? Any official denunciation of violence coming our way anytime soon?

I was in college and had just come out when Matthew Shepard was murdered. His death was such a horrifying and unexpected tragedy that it left its mark on everyone I knew, even though none of us had ever met him. To read the exchange between Scranton and Ravndal makes me wince as if from a physical blow.

Matthew was my age - he'd be almost 34 now. Is the world now, no better than the world that he left? Is this truly where Tea Party and other anti-gay types want us to be? Because this is where the road of homophobia and discrimination against GLBTQ people ends. This is where the fractured discourse, alarmist propaganda, and fearmongering ends. In violence and death.

It's not funny to me. Is it funny to you, Tea Party?

      "3/6/2007
      Reading Comprehension Problems
Filed under: General — Patterico @ 8:20 am

I despair for some of our lefty friends, many of whom have severe reading impairments.

Yesterday I catalogued just a few examples of leftist hate speech by prominent figures, and I said: “The point of this list is not to argue that leftists are more hateful than conservatives.” And got a flood of leftists saying, you haven’t proved leftists are more hateful than conservatives!

      I said:

It should be obvious that this post is not a “they do it too” defense of Coulter or her ilk. To the contrary, my repeated condemnation of her is a matter of record.

And I got a flood of leftists saying: why are you defending Ann Coulter?

      I said:

If leftists defend any of the above quotes on the grounds that they’re “jokes,” they cannot consistently criticize the likes of Ann Coulter for making the same kinds of “jokes.” But they’ll try. Just watch.

And they did, blind to the counterargument I had already made...."

The authors quote Reid as saying privately that Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."Robert Byrd's outburst of racist bigoted slurs, more specifically the "n-word," on national television in March of 2001. Amazingly, this incident of blatant racism on national television drew barely a peep from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Julian Bond, Mary Frances Berry, or any of the other ambulance chasers who purport themselves to be the leaders of the civil rights movement. want any more examples?

Actually, the findings are that heterosexuality is the perversion. You see, people can be sexually stimulated by either gender. Consequently parents condition their children to be heterosexual, through spanking, physical and verbal abuse, brainwashing through false religion, and other abusive punishments.
Studies have shown that this is caused by a personal self-hatred of the bisexual nature of the parents. This abnormality of heterosexuality is also abhorred by God. Let us remember that Jesus said, “John is the one I love,” at the last supper right in front of the other male disciples and probably Mary Magdalene a woman. Jesus was obviously homosexual or bisexual.
The argument about homosexuality stems from the fact that Jesus, being the son of God, must have been “chased.” After all, everyone knows God does not have sex. Therefore, since sex in the time of Jesus would have lead to children, messing up the entire crucifixion thing, Jesus just had sex with men, which allowed him to remain “chased” in the eyes of God, and not have children. In this way, Jesus taught us that devotion to the church could still be achieved, while having sex with men alone, or homosexuality. Clearly, this means that God loves homosexuals and bisexuals and finds heterosexuality a perversion in his eyes.
Finally, let me say that this is the same kind of BULL CRAP “deflection” that our conservative commentators are using when they bash Islam for hating gays. It changes the subject, and confuses the issue. It is a common tactic by the ignorant Right Wing, and is based on a lack of facts, reality and bigotry.
Hypocritically, they are also bashing some in Islam for hating gays, while they agree and practice the very same hate. If they can find a Muslim that hates gays, they can happily pray and flagellate each other in the eyes of God. Or is that gay? LOL!

    • I would make a million jokes about skull F*@&ing JFK's corpse before I ever considered making a joke about Mathew Shepard.

So me and the corpse of JFK walk into a bar...

2 down and 999,998 to go.

P.S. I actually do like JFK.

No anti-"tax" rallies when W was doing bailouts... I wonder what the difference was and how it relates here. Hmm...

The KKK rallied their support by changing their name, that's all there is to it.

These guys are going to play themselves out really quick and then everyone who can't see them for what they are now, will finally see the point.

Just take a look at the Libertarians, if you need an example. Those guys are dropping like flies. They had me fooled for a few months; (that's what I get for not doing my research as throughly as I should have) but then reality sinks in and your left feeling like the sucker you are.

i find it quite interesting that its the left that continues to obsess with obamas color, something subliminal and deap seated there. we tea partiers and the right keep talking about his failed ideas and policies that have nothing to do with his color. if clinton had been this obsessed with a militant like leftest agenda we'd have bitched then too. actually we did. and now that i think about it, another 4 years of clinton sounds pretty good about now.

Being extremely liberal myself, I am sorely disappointed that Obama is not in the least bit liberal. Give some examples. If you had your eyes open, you'd realize that liberals (I'm a liberal, not a Democrat) are none too impressed with Obama.

All the teabaggers talk about is the absolute excrement defecated from the mouth of Glenn Beck and charlatans like him. You are being misled, or you are doing the misleading. There is no other kind of teabagger. The deceivers who have something to gain, and the deceived.

Sadly but very true, I agree with you! As an educated American I feel sad for the ignorance of some of the people of our country. Hatred for people that by choice or genetic prefer their same sex as a partner or because you have a different color skin or nationality is NOT in any way what GOD who LOVES everyone equally Wants, I'm certain. 8-)

Just remember that, "Religion is the Opium of the people"-Karl Marx

and for the people who don't about where this quote came from, here is something for you to think about:

The quotation, in context, reads as follows (emphasis added):

Religion is, indeed, the self-consciousness and self-esteem of man who has either not yet won through to himself, or has already lost himself again. But man is no abstract being squatting outside the world. Man is the world of man—state, society. This state and this society produce religion, which is an inverted consciousness of the world, because they are an inverted world. Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point d'honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human essence since the human essence has not acquired any true reality. The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion. Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering.

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. "

The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.

Why do you keep bragging about that, as if it means something? You might be more susceptible to right-wing rhetoric than you think (at the expense of rational thought). The party not in power always makes gains in the mid-term elections, especially in tough times. There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, special about the fact that the revolting Republicans will make gains this cycle. There is absolutely nothing to brag about. All you have to do when you're not the party in power is make your opponent look bad, whether it's true or not, such as calling Obama a Nazi or a Socialist, and make his agenda, no matter what it is, fail. In other words, all you have to do is be the party of NO, and Republicans are saying to to everything, even things they would ordinarily agree with. It's a political game. That's all it is, but you have caught yourself up in it as if it has any real meaning. It doesn't. Bragging about this simply means that you have been played by the Republican party.

You are just a pawn. As am I. I am not always successful, but I do try to not get caught up in the meaningless rhetoric too much. You should try the same.

I repeat: The Obama administration is not liberal. They are center-right. It depends, sometimes it stands for queer and sometimes it stands for questioning. A questioning individual is someone who isn't sure where they stand on sexual preference and someone who is queer just has all kinds of strange sexual habits.

To be honest, the whole thing is silly. It's too inclusive and human sexual behavior is too varied to attach identity to. Some people have tried a unifying umbrella statement to avoid the whole LGBTQQ mouthful, but without much success.
