Federal Agents Raid At Least Five Las Vegas Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted raids earlier today on at least five medical marijuana dispensaries in Las Vegas, Nevada, and reportedly seized patient and financial records, but made no arrests. According to the Associated Press, Natalie Collins, spokeswoman for the local U.S. Attorney's office said that the federal search warrants and "supporting affidavits stemming from what she called 'an ongoing law enforcement operation' were sealed by federal court order." The dispensaries raided today by federal agents and local police included: Happiness Consultant, Salvation Haven, Nature's Way, Organic Releaf, & Holistic Solutions.

The federal raids come nearly a year after an October 2009 Justice Department directive issued to U.S. Attorneys in medical marijuana states, deprioritizing enforcement against medical marijuana patients and providers. The Las Vegas raids occurred less than two months after another spate of federal raids in July against state-compliant patients in California and Michigan. "The federal government should never be called on to enforce local or state medical marijuana laws," said Caren Woodson, Director of Government Affairs with Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the country's largest medical marijuana advocacy group. "The federal DEA must abide by the Justice Department policy and stay out of the enforcement of local and state medical marijuana laws."

      Yeah drug tests are what got me on harder shit that stays in your system less, and then eventually got me smoking shwag.
      But I've smoked k2 and k3 and honestly, I'd rather break incense up into a bowl or blunt and smoke it.

      don't buy schwag, or any moldy bud, or anything that has been adulterated with sand or etching spray, or soapbar hash if you are in europe. It is not worth it...and if you buy it that dealer will still offer it...if you refuse they are more likely to get better sources....you are throwing you money away if you buy that crap and harming your health

      also stop getting from that dude if they short you or are in any way sketchy...just do without...and if you have no other options and are desperate try mail order....but you can lose your money that way just as well

      If marijuana is a schedule 1 hallucinogen, then so should a really good lay. Because they have virtually the same effect on you, only one is fueled by exhaustion of the body, the other by a chemical reaction in the brain.

      God dammit I just can't say it enough.
      How many doctors need to stand up and say "smoking pot will help stop nausea, numb pain, and restore hunger more effectively than any pharmaceutical drug available and without risk of side effects" before these drug fighting traditionalists stop turning this plant into the boogeyman.

      I mean, Jesus, do you ever wonder why they bust so many medical marijuana dispensaries? Because they don't need to make any arrests to take evidence, they won't have to file any paperwork if they make no arrests, the owners of the dispensaries think they got off lightly, and most significantly, these dispensaries are not hard to find. Because these owners and operators are not breaking any laws (depending on what state they're in). So the cops get a big payday.

      You want to know why marijuana is a "gateway drug"? Because stupid fucking middle aged Americans act like it's just as bad as doing coke or shooting up or rolling or tripping. Anyone who's ever been a part of the DARE program knows exactly what I'm talking about. Of course if you say this to one of them, they'll call you childish and find one million reasons why coke, ecstasy, acid, and heroin are worse. But as long as we keep fighting weed we will continue to push younger generations towards harder drugs.

      Corrupt officer 1: I need to pay of my debts or the mob will kill me.

      Corrupt officer 2: Lets go take money from medical marijuana dispensaries, then we will act all nice collecting evidence (mostly cash and pot) then let everyone go so we don't have to do paper work. Plus the potheads will think that they are off the hook.

    • There were no arrests because nothing illegal was going on. These DEA agents are running around stealing the property of the legitimate businesses and depriving law abiding citizens of their proscribed medication. This criminal behavior needs to stop and our president and his justice department need to make it stop.

      Until that changes, there is something illegal along the lines of mass civil disobedience going on in like what, 14 states?

      I dont think he can wipe federal government control in 2 years.. Yet alone ever. Government control is so controversial. We need government when it hurts, but hate it when it takes away from us. Of course those abusing it doesnt help and I think the government takes more than it gives back but thats because there's too many greedy politicians and dumb presidents (Bush's) I remember countless "jokes" of G.W. Bush stating that a dictatorship would be so much easier and that so much more would get done. I think in a presidential position, that should never be a joke and based on the amount of stupid decisions he/his administration made, I would bet anyone that he was being honest when he said that.

      As for legalization. Its in the November ballot for California! Dont get high and not vote! I dont smoke much anymore (got shit to do son) but I will be voting because only an ignorant hillbilly tea party member would be ignorant enough to not tax and regulate this resource. Also our prison and law enforcement systems need a little relief. What else? How about we stop chopping down the forest and use hemp as our #1 resource for paper.

    • Sales and distribution are still a Felony under Federal Law. So until the Federal Government Changes the law to legalize marijuana the DEA will be busting anyone who grows, sells or distributes the controlled substances. States laws as we see with Arizona mean nothing to the Feds.

      that is no real comparison what they are doing in Arizona is targeting Hispanic people with racial profiling and is completely Un-Constitutional. What the 14 or more states that have legalized medical marijuana are doing is helping people deal with their chronic pain and other debilitating diseases both mental and physical. thats defiantly and apples to oranges comparison. But then I'm sure you are not intelligent enough to understand that so I forgive your dumb ass mistake.
