Man Utd fan stops home being painted in Man City colour

Edward Bowkett, 61, in Somerset has won his battle to stop a housing association from painting his house a light sky blue colour. The reasons against the colour come from him being a life long Man U fan and stating the colours used to paint the houses in the area as ""It looks like Smurfville here now. I would rather they were all red and white."-BBC

The rest of the houses in the area are to remain a blue and pink scheme while Bowkett's house remains blank.

    • Let's just hope he's not a 65 year old Firm leader. I admit modern day footie banter is a tad more upbeat even if repetitive.

it would be a great way to catch an old firm leader, 'he was UK's most wanted and in hiding for years, but police found him after he complained about having a bright blue house.'

    • there's usually a lot more jokey rivalry comments between fans (this seems like an upbeat example), though i see what you mean there are always some who take it too far and take away the fun.

    • It's definitely different to racism. It's the same as being really into a band and not like rival musicians or something.

    • Aghh, it really winds me up that people take football this serious. It's only a game. This is no different to racism in my opinion.

One of the reasons why I choose to dislike taking football seriously.
