Bah, the video is axiomatic nonsense. Once I got to the socialism/free market portion I stopped.

He sets up an analysis of the world which is glossed over and not factual and then expects you to accept it as basic truth.

Even if we follow his useless continuum and ignore the fact that America hasn't leaned towards anything even remotely resembling socialism for the last 45 years, how exactly would we be leaning towards the Soviet Union or Red China? First off, the Soviets are gone and the Chinese are better at capitalism under a corrupt, authoritarian government than we are. Secondly, we just had a massive collapse of the free market model not but a few years ago. Did you keep any of that in mind when you watched this?

I didn't say I was informed, but I don't have to sit through an hour of material to see its trajectory. Especially when it has some obvious Libertarian slant like "increasing liberty" while talking shit about "commies." You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure where the video's going, especially since it's decades old.

Unless that was the only dumb part of the video and the rest of it was solid gold I don't feel I have to keep going to a basic gist of what this guy is about and what his arguments are.

If I'm wrong, by all means, show it to me. But I'm not about sit through 50 minutes of this guy if it is exactly what I think it is.

And since the only thing I have to go on right now is that you're encouraging me to finish it, my gut tells me that I was right on, that it is nothing more than decades-old right-wing talking points.

Is that supposed to be a counter-argument? His post is two sentences long.

By comparison, this video's script would likely run at least 50 pages.

How hard is to say "this video is about X, the speaker argues Y, I agree with because Z."

Seriously, how hard is that? It's the content that's important and all content can be summarized to at LEAST a paragraph.

Why won't you do that? It isn't difficult and it would convince me to watch this video.
