Maybe just get enough vitamins in your diet, hydrate adequately, and carry a handkerchief for a few days and ranger the fuck up, pot heads.

Cannabis has relieved my cold symptoms in the past. It temporarily dried out my sinuses and relieved minor aches and pains.

People, relax. they are NOT claiming it is a cure like proven by science, just that its a natural remedy that may help because well who is this article catering to? people who use marijuana already and you know what? they are going to use it anyway they aren't going to stop and this tea isn't going to make them use it more. furthermore, the drink actually helped with my cold, it helped with the pain, so it can indeed help - i hate taking pills i am allergic to most of them as well, i have a lot of allergies to common ingredients used in them which is one reason my doctor gave me a marijuana prescription (thank goodness i live in California). i have cancer too which is extremely painful believe me and it helps with the pain. honestly some of you people are taking this too seriously and going up on your anti-marijuana platform. RELAX. ITS JUST A SILLY ARTICLE AND ITS NOT LIKE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ARE GONNA BE LIKE "WOW MIRACLE CURE!" probably not even 100 people will think that. the article doesn't even claim that. its just like thousands of other natural remedy articles that could be about echinacea, tea trea oil, lavender, other kinds of herbs, i don't see what the big deal is, people know these articles are usually not based on scientific studies, they are already look for alternatives...or if its about ganja well like i said they are already ganja users and its NOT going to recruit more people to use ganja. seriously. relax. haha. peace.

Anyone who THINKS they were cured by Ganja Tea just naturally got better by the body's natural immunity building up to their cold. There will NEVER be a 'cure' for the Common Cold because 'the Common Cold' is a misnomer, there is no 'single' common cold. There are hundreds of colds and you never get the same one twice in your life. So a single knock out cure for all of them? No. Will never happen. Not ever. As in never. As in never ever.

it helped me. and nobody said it was a cure. it is said as a "remedy" which is not at all the same as a cure. and seriously it helped with my pain. and also i don't think anybody thinks its a cure as in "oh my god this will always work! like the polio vaccine!" nobody is that stupid. relax.

EmperorThan:
From Wiki: "The common cold is due to a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. The most commonly implicated virus is a rhinovirus (30–50%), a type of picornavirus with 99 known serotypes. Others include: coronavirus (10–15%), influenza (5–15%), human parainfluenza viruses, human respiratory syncytial virus, adenoviruses, enteroviruses, and metapneumovirus.
In total over 200 serologically different viral types cause colds. Coronaviruses are particularly implicated in adult colds. Of over 30 coronaviruses, 3 or 4 cause infections in humans, but they are difficult to grow in the laboratory and their significance is thus less well-understood. Due to the many different types of viruses and their tendency for continuous mutation, it is impossible to gain complete immunity to the common cold."
Or put more succinctly as I did above, not a single virus but many. No cure. Not now, not ever. You'll just get better after a few days naturally. Or die...

It probably just relieved the pain from the fever which marijuana will do. Everyone gets over the cold after a week or so, so people are more inclined to think something cured them if they used it before they got better.

So Cannabis even fights the common cold... why isn't this stuff legal? It seems we need a movement. If such a large population of our nation smoke and lead productive, fulfilling lives... punishing them seems wrong, so lets all just make some tea and get along :)

I saw nothing saying cannabis fights the common cold in this article. No link, no study, I don't go by word of mouth claims for 'cures'.
"Btw did you guys know that LSD cures Multiple Sclerosis?" Really EmperorThan? How did you figure that out? Did you do a double blind study I assume? "No, but I did just make it up. So therefore it MUST be true!"

yes :) right on :) i agree. also you know what i have friends who are rasta/rastafari/ras tafari (some people call this religion rastafarianism) and its unfair because it is part of their spirituality and in this country we are supposed to have freedom of religion so yes it should definitely be legal. often i use this case: how many people die every year from alcohol-related deaths? many many hundreds of thousands. marijuana? i don't think any. if there are some freak cases of that its certainly not like alcohol, and alcohol is legal (which it should be) but way more dangerous. people just have cultural biases. in some cultures and places in the world, people are cool with ganja and uncool with alcohol. and i think as much pot is used in the u.s. as alcohol is...its just not counted officially how can it be lol...anyway peace brother or sister. and yes the tea actually helped me. did you know they sell it in cofeeshops in the netherlands? thats where i first had it. its amazing how effective it was so much better than the pills you can buy at the pharmacy that have all those bad side effects and haven't been around as long so who knows what its doing to you in the long run. cannabis has been around for a long long longggg time. peace :)

You need to add the butter before boiling the tea so that the leaves can release the THC into the butter - adding milk, butter or cream after the tea has been cooked doesn't help.

On the other hand, marijuana leaves do contain many other alkaloids which are soluble in water, some of which do have medicinal properties too. We can buy hemp tea here in Switzerland - it contains only tiny traces of THC but has great qualities (tastes delicious) and are positive for the health.

To answer Einsam_Data below, ganja tea is effective against fevers as well as congestion and even heartburn. Your heart begins racing when your body is struck with a fever or heartburn. To drink ganja tea lowers the heart rate, but strengthens the blood flow, causing whatever sickness to work its way out of the body faster.
This is an age old remedy that is consistently effective. - 2 years ago
