    • Ms. O'Donnell has committed the unpardonable sin of entering politics while bringing along firm beliefs. The fact that this is even news is pitiful. When Clinton was tutoring Monica in her oral exams in the Oval Office his supporters said it was about sex, was private and should be left alone. Now, I guess, that is all changed. Changed, no doubt, not by the subject but by the fact that Ms. O'Donnell is a conservative. Oh well. NOw the loons have another female target in addition to Sarah.

    • Paratus:

      http://private.th

Paratus your comments are always rich with contradictions and a fundamental misunderstanding of the issue at hand (no pun intended).

First it would have been appropriate to make the affair public IF Lewinsky was influencing Bill's policy decisions with her mouth. Since she wasn't so the affair should have remained a PRIVATE matter between him and his family.

Second Bill and Monica didn't make a public video for MTV espousing the joys of adultery, encouraging everyone to bonk thy neighbors wife AND get paid for it. This is a very significant difference between them and the train wreck above, wouldn't you agree?

Despite that you seem to think that because liberals believe sex is private, they shouldn't discuss a video that was shown on national television in 1996, by a person who wants to be in the United States Congress, regardless of the fact it was MADE FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION.

If you look hard at past and current events you'll see a consistent thread that runs through conservative beliefs regarding sex. They believe it's bad and sinful unless you are trying to have children. (this leads me to believe the happiest conservatives are probably the ones who have difficulty conceiving a child). This is why many conservative members of Congress and their friends on the religious right are always being caught doing things like contacting Rent-a-Boy to carry their bags, tapping under rest room stalls, and condemning gays when they themselves are gay. Still most liberals wouldn't bother discussing the sexual shenanigans these people IF those same people weren't writing public policy to keep gays and lesbians from being publicly acknowledged a human beings.

So in a nutshell most liberals believe it's appropriate to discuss a persons sexual proclivities under two conditions 1) THEY turn it into a PUBLIC issue 2) they are hypocrites trying to write PUBLIC POLICY that results in the denigration a group of people because of their sexual preference. Hope this clears things up for you.

    • Wow. An interesting take.

I do think one can masturbate without lust in one's heart. So, it's okay if you do it with love. ;)

It seems the sexual paradigm in the U.S. places sex at the heart of power dynamics, so we end up with a culture of repression and perversity, when it comes to sexual expression.

Perhaps there are other ways to look at the sexual force in the human experience...?

What I don't understand is why you would be against such a thing. These people are insane. They're telling people it's wrong to masturbate and have sex, then they also want to take away sex education, so when younger people do actually have sex, they won't be safe, which will lead to a pregnancy of a 13-17 year old, but then they're also against abortions and gay adoption? And they think they're open-minded?

    • Paratus:

      Ah, my old friend Paratus.

"Statism (or etatism) is a term assigned to political movements and trends that are seen as supporting the use of the state to achieve goals, both economic and social."

I know there's a connection you're trying to make though I'm really going to have to guess what it is.

The video is about masturbation (actually lack of masturbation). I don't think Obama is mentioned anywhere because I didn't see or hear the word birth certificate socialist, or closet Muslim. I'm certain like most folks he's wrangled his wanker so there's no reason to bring him or the government into this this anymore than yourself. Further, I don't think the government has a stance on masturbation so I don't see how people could use the state to achieve a goal to support either masturbating or not. Consequently I'm having trouble trying to grasp why you used term in the first place.

Regardless, my comment was aimed specifically at her extreme stance on masturbation, which to be honest is...well...extreme. I say "extreme" because the woman is 41 and has apparently held this misguided belief for decades whereas most people clearly understand it's fun and doesn't hurt anyone. Second please read my post below. The Bible, nor Jesus, nor his apostles ever spoke about it, so in essence, she's built her beliefs and life around a sad delusion. Finally If she kept views to herself and maybe a few friends, all would be well and good. That she starts a movement and goes on national television to espouse it is "extreme".

    • animalia_libero:

I was just using an extreme example. I don't really think that not masturbating leads to rape. I'm sure there are some cases in which it holds true, however. I wouldn't say it's "dangerous" to make that correlation, though. I'm not even sure what that means. My point simply was that restraining any natural urge is going to materialize, negatively, in some other form of release. Everyone has a breaking-point.

If you don't masturbate then eventually you will have a nocturnal emission or wet dream....I have woken up in the middle of a wet dream, just as I was reaching climax, and had the pleasure of experiencing the orgasm with full consciousness. It was awesome.

Usually, it is better to just do it when convenient.

Well, I may not be totally wrong. Sexual supression can manifest itself as aggression, violence, and hatred towards those who implemented that supression. Ugh, human brains are WAY too complex.

    • I was thinking about this on the way home while not masturbating, Jesus never say one word about masturbation. Nothing, zip, nada. In fact, the "Scripture" as a whole says nothing about cranking Mr. Spanky. The reasoning for the lust/masturbation/sin thing, I think is most often related to the following quote. follows :

"You have heard that it was said, do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew something or other).

The leap of "logic", that Christians seem to make is that looking lustfully at a woman is a sin that is committed during masturbation therefore masturbation is a sin. However, the quote clearly refers to adultery, not masturbation and consequently should be interpreted as an additional warning against committing adultery and coveting your neighbors wife; both of which are specifically mentioned in the 10 Commandments.

I find it curious that Christians interpret the quote the way they do given that Jesus, nor his apostles say anything about masturbation and volumes about adultery. But if you examine some of the basic expectations of Christianity, not the least of which is suffering for/in Christ, their interpretation makes more "sense", for lack of a better word. What guy hasn't "suffered" from blue balls as a result of sexual frustration. Though, not a woman, I'm positive they suffer in a similar manner. Not masturbating amounts to nothing less than a creative form of "self flagellation" often practiced by Christians to prove their worthiness before God.

Still Christians can't be faulted for the way they believe, remember, Christianities primary focus throughout history has been on how Jesus died for our sins, and less on how we should love one another despite our differences. I almost pity them (but not quite).

    • Hey wait--isn't masturbation basically a victimless crime?

Also how especially disingenuous do you have to be to say don't have sex with a live human being you are not married to--that's a sin....but having sex with your hand or non-human sex toy--is also a sin.

But then because I am in a really weird mood--I will say she just said it was not okay to masturbate or have heterosexual sex outside of marriage---so I guess those who are into animals or who are infected with the "gay" are safe.

    • Ha "if he can please himself, then why am I in the picture?", so she is saying we only use the other for pleasure? I suppose that is true, I mean what is the difference between the love you have for your kid to the love you have for your wife? The only difference I see is pleasure, but these people don't seem to think for themselves they would rather let the book do it for them.

She was if I calculated this right 27 during that video--I know people who follow their faith this passionately but really if its 14 yrs later your just pointing out the fact that no man is gonna want you when your 41 and have probably not done more than maybe peck a guy on the cheek.

Then when the other lady spoke, the blonde-haired woman behind her gave a microexpression lip shrug, a “tell” that the blonde does not care about what the brunet is saying. HYPOCRACY!!! LOL!
Of course there is the obvious crazy element. Hey kids, if you do not get out and vote in November, these freak shows will be cutting off you unemployment, your job creation and your overall happiness. Remember, Hitler was also a nut case too.
Addendum: Remember to inform every unemployed person you know about that, and get them to vote democrat in November, or they will have no unemployment checks.

    • Gotta love irony.

Funny I always heard that the reason NOT to have sex before marriage was so that your future boyfriend/girlfriend didn't go--I already have the milk why pay for the cow? But damn her way of framing it is harsh--because yeah I really want to have my potential lover/life partner go well I already have a hand--what do I need you for again?

But my personal favorite is they all admit we have sexual desires and sexual needs and that rightly so its healthier and safer to express those desires openly and/or with a person you like enough to spend at least the next morning with--but how does denying yourself a real live sexual partner and denying yourself the act of masturbation do anything other than create some seriously sexually frustrated person who ends up running for congressional office in Delaware on a platform of "my opponent is obviously gay because he doesn't find me sexual attractive so....."

She has since modified her stance (heehee) to state that:

"The only way to remain pure is for men to castrate themselves. IT'S WHAT JESUS WANTS!!!"

Let's see the Liberal Media try to twist those words around to make her sound "crazy" or "extreme."
