But it sounded like a therapy session for disillusioned Obama supporters.
“I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for,” said the first questioner, an African-American woman who identified herself as a chief financial officer, a mother and a military veteran. “I’ve been told that I voted for a man who was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class, and I’m waiting, sir, I’m waiting. I still don’t feel it yet.”

Noone, no matter who they are, or whomever they think they are,
should ever make promises they can't/won't keep. A public office
is a public trust. Once people are known to lie, they're guaranteed
to never regain ANYONE'S trust. We all know the average politician
is nothing more or less than a prostitute. The founding fathers never
trusted any of the bastards because they knew that power corrupts.
Does any of this surprise you ? It shouldn't. Only fools and their money
are soon parted. The politician tricksters are always putting their hands
out asking for your money, while back handing the acceptance of your
opponents money where you can't see them. Trust noone with your Liberty
but you yourselves. - 1 year ago

Barack may have had good intentions, but like most politicians, he had to make so many compromises to get to where he is that none of those good intentions will come to any substantive change. We shouldn't be surprised though, this happens all the time.

The REALITY OF TRUTH finally shown on the news! Now they can "spin this" all day, but we can finally see that this will not work anymore. The CHANGE that Obama wants is not the CHANGE he campaigned about in vague general terms. It is NOT the CHANGE America wants because that would be it's DESTRUCTION.

And the Bush years? Were you happy with two wars, 9/11, the Patriot Act, the destruction of what was a healthy economy, torture, illegal spying, tax breaks for the wealthy, compromised consumer and environmental protection, the politicization or the Justice Dept, the outing of a CIA operative to name just a few? By listening to people like you one would swear Bush and the corporations he so loved, never existed. My God you wouldn't know a good thing if it slapped you in the face.

Perhaps he had good intent until they sat him down at the round table and told him how America does and will continue to do business.
And if you dont.........

It takes guts for that woman to look the president in the eye and say that. I commend her, as well as everyone that spoke honestly and candidly. We can only hope he was listening (I wouldn't bet on it).

it is sad that you think that it takes "guts" to speak your mind...... maybe that is why things move so slowly in the progression of our nation.....people are scared so speak honestly.

To look at the president and tell him you don't think he's doing his job. Yes, I think that takes a certain amount of courage. It's not easy.

bush spent 8 years breaking the country and obama is supposed to fix it in under 2 years?
until stuff doesn't happen, i'll keep waiting for it. The healthcare came, the economic reform came, the end of iraq came, we should keep waiting for the things we're waiting for... until they're long gone.
P.S. Obama's administration's defecit shrunk 8% and you've heard that recession ended too... Right?

No, I don't think anyone reasonable is expecting Obama to fix things in 20-ish months. The problem, at least from my perspective, is that he's not even on the path.
Yes, there was a healthcare bill passed, but it's not a good one, and it's going to actually cause problems for a lot of people. That's not what we want.
The financial "reform" bill doesn't do anything to actually address the problems that caused the financial meltdown, such as derivatives trading. Who wrote that bill? Wall Street lobbyists. They're not interested in reform, they're interested in rigging the game.
Also, the deficit shrunk in the last year, but it's still slightly larger than when he came into office. However, this is one area I think he is doing fairly well in.

Do you understand why the health care bill isn't a good one? Several reasons, Joe Liebermann, Blue Dog democrats, the entire GOP and their corporate masters.
Let's face it, all Obama wanted was single payer health care. This would have provided some real competition to an unnecessary and expensive middle man (for profit insurers) and forced them to bring their rates down. However, none of the above would have it. So what we've got is the result of their machinations against a fundamentally simple plan that would have helped all Americans. Don't blame Obama for that because he did the best that could be done given the circumstances. His only other option was to trash the whole thing and hand the GOP a total victory that they would still be pleasuring themselves with each night when they go to bed.

Mark701:
No. First of all, that's not single-payer health care, that's the public option.
And Obama killed that before Congress even had the chance. He cut a backroom deal with Big Healthcare to pull the public option from consideration.
He didn't fight for the public option. He didn't fight for importing drugs. He did, however, give the insurance industry a huge source of new customers.

Well don't you just listen to a whole lot of fox news... Just because someone says that the recession has ended and our economy is in a better state doesn't mean it is, we are currently inflating a financial bubble that will collapse harder than the last 2 recessions combined and its now harder to find jobs than it ever was before not to mention the insane unemployment rate...

Gee what was umemployment under Bush vs unemployment under Obama? I am not a Bush supporter except when he ran against the morons he had as opponents. Obama is destroying this nation more surely and more completely than a hundred Bushs.
