Defending Religious Freedom in America

Let's show the world that the majority of Americans are committed to defending the right of religious freedom for all. It only takes $1 to answer Michael Moore's "call to help" and raise the money required to out bid Donald Trump for the land. If we band together it will be impossible to ignore our outrage at this unacceptable display of corporate power undermining our inalienable rights as Americans.

Any American who donates to this victory mosque is a traitor to America and should be treated as such! It is Islam's intent to take over the entire world and impose shariah law and all it implies! This must not be allowed to happen! Islam isn't just a religious concept, and it is a mistake to think of it on those terms, rather it is a evil cult which controls every aspect of it's followers lives and hates individual freedom, as it must have total and complete control over everyones lives and says so! I not only say no I say HELL NO!

Where do you get your news exactly?
What is being proposed to be built is not a mosque. Despite how much you want it to be so you can give us nightmares about Musilms, it is not a mosque. Oh, and it's also not on the Ground Zero site either. It's two blocks north.
What's being built is an Islamic community center. It's going to have a mosque in one of the rooms in the 13 story building, along with the basketball court, swimming pool, auditorium, and culinary school.
It is not a 13 story victory mosque being built on Ground Zero.More importantly, the Muslims didn't murder 3,000 of our people on that site. Despite how much you want them to have. A group of radical Muslims murdered 3,000 of our people on that site. Not the entire Islamic community.
I may be rude, but it's you who is the traitor. This country was founded on the ideals that one religion is not favored over the other. And there is just enough right for an Islamic community center to be there then there is for the Catholic parish, which stands on the block in between the Community Center and Ground Zero.
Oh and I'm not liberal, although I know all naysayers appear to be. And as far as my education goes, well, I think I'm doing just fine.

#1 Michael Moore is a jerk !!! Number 2 why the hell don't the US care about the rights of Americans, all we seem to care about is Muslims and their crazy religion. Day by day the Cristian faith is being dismantled by our own Government. Seems like we bow down to everybody now days, it doesn't matter what it is, we end up kissing someones ass instead of stand up fr what this Nation was founded on. Last I heard about 90% of Americans are Christians while !0% are doing a good job of destroying it. They take In God We Trust off our currency because it may offend someone, If it offends you move back to where ever you came !!!! We are AMERICANS and we are a proud people that have Christian values. If you think you are going to move here and take away are God given rights you have another thing coming. Americans have had enough, that's why the Tea Party has started, a group of Americans that want things to go back to what made America what it was 30 tears ago before all of these Lawyers and groups crying about every damn thing. If you don't like America move the hell out of here, and do us all a big favor. You will never take away our way of life without a fight from every red blooded American that has any pride at all. Are rights are being taken away every single day, Obama don't give a S*** about you or your rights. In his own words he believes we should be run by a World Government. This man has one thing and one thing on his mind fundamentally reshaping America, now we know exactly what he had in mind. We are going to vote all of you uncaring people in Government out of office, believe me. The American people have had enough of this, and Will take our Country back !!!

Wow - seriously? You speak like Americans and Muslims are two different things. News flash. It's a religion, ok - meaning many Americans practice it too. I don't know where to start in deconstructing your ill conceived idea of what America is. We are a country of immigrants, founded by immigrants, created by an eclectic mix of different ethnic groups. By the by, the United States cares WAY more about the rights of its citizens than it does many of the countries it deals with concerning economics and politics, social issues and human rights. Before you spout off your ignorant - blindly nationalistic dribble that ultimately makes you sound like an American stereotype or a Nazi - be a REAL American and read our constitution, look at our bill of rights, and study how and why this country came to be where it is today. In doing so you will truly understand many of our past mistakes and realize how we have overcome them, you will realize how beautiful our nation has been and can be - and the potential we have as a nation to rise above prejudice notions of "us and them". But there is still a lot of work to be done, and perpetuating hatred and intolerance won't create anything of value. If you truly stop to think about, seriously stop and think about it, does hatred create goodness? It sounds simple, right? It's not. Understanding our own agency in the creation of positivity is a powerful thing once realized. I hope you think about it.

And Christianity isn't at all violent? Read your bible and scriptures as well. The idea here is extremism is very bad. That is - the attitude you two are both so vehemently supporting is the thing that condones honor killings and other offenses.
"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)
"If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife."
(Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)And the list goes on. Please - don't even try to pit one up against the other. This is a problem of extremism. Christian and Muslim alike. I did my research, time to reread your holy books.

Islam stretches from here in the US across the entire world into South East Asia.

Well that's one heck of a statement I must say.
Let me ask you something. Who is instrumental in stoking the fans of insanity when it comes to building this Mosque and supporting the Tea Party? Answer: FOX "News".
Second, who owns FOX News? Answer: News Corp/ Rupert Murdoch.
Now tell me who is the second largest investor in News Corp outside of Murdoch himself?
Answer:Prince Alwaleed bin TalalNow tell me who the major financial backer for the Mosque is?
Answer:Prince Alwaleed bin Talalhttp://www.fastcompany.com/1566018/crib-sheet-prince-alwaleed
http://www.tv.com/the-daily-show-vs.-fox-news-why-won%92t-fox-fight-back/story/23774.htmlSee anything odd here? My point here is that the corporation responsible for working everyone into a rage is owned in large part by the same guy who is financing the Mosque.
Get it? For Red,white and blue FOX "News" and their investors it's all about the money
they make from advertising when millions of Americans THEY worked into a rage, tune in for more rage. They could give a rats ass whether this country is Islamic, Christian, Judaic, practices cannibalism, bloodletting, stoning or incest. To them its about the money. Get it? Money, money and more money. It matters not who gives it to them or where it comes from.

This isn't news, it is a fundraiser! Also, this really isn't about religious freedom, it is about economic freedom. If Trump can pay more, so be it.
"unacceptable display of corporate power undermining our inalienable rights as Americans"
It is because of our legal rights that Trump can buy the land. You can't fight for one groups legal rights while asking another to sacrifice theirs.
Also what about that poor boy forced to hold the sign saying "I am Muslim." Really? Was that his choice? To hold the sign? Or be Muslim? That doesn't seem like religious freedom to me, more like brainwashing. Nothing upsets me more than when parents make their kids protest things they do not understand. The Phelps are the worst, but this is no different

Furthermore, if he was JUST identifying himself as a Muslim (not knowing better) and asking not to be hated that would be more acceptable. But, the fact is he is being used as part of a larger political protest that his young mind cannot possibly grasp the intricacies of, let alone choose a side.

The most ironic thing about the Phelps family/WBC is that their protests are literally peaceful. The counter-protesters are vile, threatening, vulgar and violent towards them and actually had a terrorist bomb their church.
At the same time they finance themselves while rejecting donations and don't sell merchandise (who will buy anyways![and they believe receiving money is a sign of a false prophet that sells you hope and what you want to hear in church])
Either the Westboro Baptist Church is really blessed by God because they have been successfully protesting nearly 20 yrs and been able body to do it or they are incredibly lucky and have had a series of coincidences of protection from people that detest them.

I hate all religions, but I don't hate the people who subscribe to them.
People who think it's ok to not allow someone to buy property and do what they want with it (within the confines of the law) and believe in America and free enterprise/capitalism... YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!!!
You can't pick and choose where the constitution is valid (though Bush/McCain/Palin/Arizona anti-dark skin law supporters, and many Republicans and Liebermans would disagree) and pretend like you believe in American ideologies. You can't say this is a Christian nation and uphold the constitution. If you do, you are a hypocrite, by definition. It's not an opinion, or a gray area, you are a two-faced hypocrite.
Hiding behind the "honor" of the WTC causalities is complete bullshit. People are pissed about this, yet they celebrate drones bombing hospitals and schools?! If this is your morality you are a racist, xenophobic piece of shit.
I just wonder what it would be like if this was a Jesus-center, and people were trying to ban it from being built....
1. Obama would be blamed: He's a communist/socialist ('cuz in 'Merica they're the same thing) and a foreign born black Muslim and gets blamed for everything (disclaimer: I am not a Obama supporter)
2. Death threats made by "Christians" to the people blocking the building of the Jesus Center. This one's a given... Its happening now to those who want the community center built.
3. Just as meaningless of a hot button political issue as this is. - 1 year ago

I feelo that it is OK to deny the Mosque, as a matter of fact I oppose so many churches and megachurches that are nothing more than legalized con-artists at work to fleece an ignorant public.There..so deny the mosques and at the same time start dismantling the many and varied churches and religions and cults spreading their ignorance. Instead build schools where churchs are and were, Teach people and students to think for themselves and not be swayed into listening and believing known liars and deceptions. There is nothing wrong with Arabs or Persians or anyone else but when religions keep the worlds masses in dark ignorance, this is a big problem, but the many governments pay much to keep the worlds people stupid and ignorant. Most of you guys are in the minority. Again!
By a dramatic margin, a majority of the country opposes the construction of the so-called "Ground Zero mosque," a new CNN poll finds. According to the new survey, 68% of Americans are against building the Cordoba House, a Muslim community center planned to be constructed two blocks from the former site of the World Trade Center. Twenty-nine percent favor the plan.

You can't have a mosque any closer than that. Also, there is a mosque in the area that is almost just as close to Ground Zero (as the proposed community center), that has been there for 40 years.
In 2009, Fox News praised Imam Rauf on his charity efforts, gave him well-wishes on getting the community center up and going. In 2010, they use it to stroke the flames of bigotry and fear.

If anyone is terrorizing American Citizens, its the faux news corps. Constantly telling miss truths and ignoring facts. They pray upon people's emotions to get ratings. -For the sole purpose of ratings, and making chaos until the "Party of No" is back in power. In America we have Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. I stand for both.
There is no difference in burning the Koran or the US Flag. Either is considered Freedom of speech. However, if we burn the American flag, and it's on all of the news stations, it won't anger the people we are currently AT WAR with. -If we burn their Holy Book, then they can say, "See how these evil American's hate God. See how they hate us, and commit sins. Join us, to help in stopping this great evil." -It gives them ammo to recruit with. -Do you see?Inside of America, both are equal, and both are the same.
Outside of America, where we have troops battling in a war, it's different.I have the Freedom to burn both, but out of respect and wisdom, I burn neither.

It is difficult to trust people who are sitting in judgment of others. While I don't believe in religion, there seems to be a fundamental disconnect between what is written in every holy book and how its extremists treat others. Being intolerant in return kind of defeats the purpose.

I hate Fucking Religions....but as an American who supports our constitution and bill of rights...I must support their right to exist because I treasure my right to exercise free thought and speech.

I'm an atheist, I think all religions are harmful to society and individuals, yet I support Freedom of religion for everyone.
It is ironic that the more religious someone is, the less likely they are to support religious freedom.

....uhm,....I cant REALLY bring myself to even CARE about NYC until they get SOME of the "Arts" related structures associated with the "Freedom Tower" etc. started. If they never do,....fuck em. ( and all associated religions integral to the area; I tend to interpret as "parasitic and superstitious elitist social organizations".)

oh man, do you answer mail addressed to onemalefla? Do you have any idea how tempting it would be to send you...oh, I don't know, maybe a couple of Jehovah's witnesses, drop your address in every 'come visit me' prayer basket across the south...a singing clown telegram....the possibilities are endless. No, you're not getting a cake with a stripper in it....I heard that thought go through your head.

Religious freedom is granted in the 1st amendment to the Constitution as part of the Bill of Rights. There shouldnt even be a debate whether or not the community center is hurting peoples feelings because in the end it doesnt matter. They have every right to build it just as the people protesting it have every right to stand outside and bitch about it. When we stop fighting for our rights is the day America truly dies.

I am the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Thou shalt have no other monsters before Me. (Afterwards is OK; just use protection.) The only Monster who deserves capitalization is Me! Other monsters are false monsters, undeserving of capitalization.

You can pray to what ever you want. Your still going to die. I may not believe in who or what you pray to but I will fight to the death to defend your right to do so.

I'm sending my dollar to Freedom FROM Religion. While i think noone should be stopped from building their church anywhere they want, I personally will not be sending anyone my hard earned money to help them play pretend, regardless of who their imaginary friend is.
