Students of CNU, welcome to our Army! Our army who is going to storm the capital and bring equal rights & justice to the men and women serving our country! and guess what?........ we accept gays!
Don't Ask, Don't Tell is a law created in 1993 that prevents gays from serving in the military openly. Since then, 14,000 Americans have been discharged under Don't Ask, Don't Tell!
This law is discriminatory and unconstitutional, and we will not stand it any longer!
I am a military brat! I know many marines, soldiers and sailors who have to sacrifice their dignity just so they can make a sacrifice for our nation. imagine having to live in fear that someone discovers your gay. imagine having to risk your entire career in order to have a boyfriend or girlfriend. For the openly LGBT members at this rally today, imagine being pushed back into the closet. All of the straight allies at this rally today, imagine having to keep secret your friends or families sexual orientation!!
Our fellow students are subjected to the discrimination of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. To those of you in CNU's ROTC program: We support you and we are fighting to end Dont Ask, Dont Tell for you!
We are here today to break the closet doors put up by don't ask, don't tell!
It is time for those who fight for our freedom to be able to live freely! It is time that the Gay and Lesbian community as a whole be treated as equals!
President Obama, you promised that your administration would repeal Dont Ask, Dont Tell... Yet 400 Soldiers have been discharged under DADT during your administration. Not one more soldier should be discharged under this policy...
President Obama, Congress, Senators Jim Webb and Mark Warner..... REPEAL DON'T ASK DON'T TELL! NOT NEXT YEAR, NOT NEXT MONTH! REPEAL DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL RIGHT NOW!
