We hear Larry King is opening up a bagel place (!!!) in Beverly Hills! Not shocking considering the amount of time he spends at Nate n Als!! Another interesting local tidbit – Teuscher in Beverly Hills in under new ownership! Former owner Aviva who has children who went to John Thomas Dye in L.A. has sold her chocolate shop to a good-looking young guy who’s name I dont not yet know.

Jarred Najjar‘s gallery Prism on Sunset will open for a private preview of their upcoming exhibition, Misericordia. The show, which features works by Marina Abramović, Joseph Beuys, Monica Bonvicini, Louise Bourgeois, Chris Burden, James Lee Byars, Lucio Fontana, Terence Koh, Anders Krisár, Giovanni di Marco, Jonathan Meese, Giovanni Battista Naldini, Olaf Nicolai, Jen DeNike, Angel Otero, Antonio di Pietro, Sterling Ruby, Katharina Sieverding, Bill Viola, and xhafabdessemed (Sislej Xhafa and Adel Abdessemed) will explore the theme of religious mercy and the way that it has been interpreted throughout the decades and across different artistic mediums. Misericordia, which is the Latin term for “Mercy,” will feature video works, paintings by the old masters, installations, sculptures, and photography that will take the viewer on a journey from the 15th century through today, with the common thread of Mercy, or lack thereof, tying the works together.

AFI FEST presented by Audi is going to be exciting this year! David Lynch will serve as its first-ever “guest Artistic Director”. A world premiere of Edward Zwick’s LOVE & OTHER DRUGS will open the festival’s Opening Night Gala on November 4 and Darren Aronofsky’s BLACK SWAN will closes the festival on November 11. *Lynch has also created artwork that will serve as the official image of the 24th annual festival. In addition, as Guest Artistic Director, Lynch will program a special sidebar of films that influence and inspire him and present these films at the festival in November.
