With an assist from FreedomWorks, Mike Lee grabbed Utah's Senate nomination from incumbent Bob Bennett. Now he shows he's not a states' rights kind of guy.

Dick Armey and his political organizing group, FreedomWorks, have been working overtime to convince Tea Party supporters they're invested in the movement's "common sense" approaches on states' rights, strict constitutionalism and protecting Main Street from Wall Street. FreedomWorks' ties to Big Energy run deep, however, and by throwing their weight behind the group's endorsed Utah Senate candidate, Mike Lee, Tea Party adherents are inadvertently backing a candidate who tried to bury 1,600 tons of European nuclear waste in what some call their sovereign state. FreedomWorks and Lee, put simply, are capitalizing on Tea Party anger for their own interests.

    • It seems that the Tea Party people will vote for Anyone that totes the party line of Eliminating All Social Programs, Eliminating Corporate Regulations, and cutting government to a completely ineffective figurehead group that bows to the Mega Corps.

      My Libertarian/Tea Party friend Perry keeps arguing with me that the government needs to get out of ALL social programs, including Schools and Libraries, because he says that market competition will make them “better”. My argument is that “Yes, the schools Will be better But not everyone would be able to afford to go to school and there will be millions of completely uneducated people.” His response is that “if you want your kids to go to school then ‘Get a better Job’ or just let your kids be stupid, it’s up to you”. Nobody would ever confuse these people with Humanitarians.

    • Instead of using street lights use tea party people to light the way at night. When they use the right to life to have kids after glowing in the dark after awhile see if they can cover the medical expenses out of pocket.

    • Tea Party Republicans will sell their mothers for a dollar.....America is in extreme danger when candidates like Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Sharon Angle, and other extremist are elected to office....They will continue to sell our country out to the highest bidder..These old recycled Republicans are self-serving, power-hungry traitors, posing as loyalists....The welfare and safety of our Country is not a consideration with these extremists...

    • The Tea Party is a front for the koch brothers and their cronies. What really pisses you off is when they dont know that they are doing it, would deny it if it was shown to them in black and white and after screwing everything up will proceed to blame someone else for causing it.
