September’s Anti-Gay Bullying Suicides – There Were A Lot More Than 5

Bullying and teasing is part being a teenager. I experienced both. Did it make me want to kill myself? -No, it made me want to kill them. But I did neither. Going through being bullied taught me about the nature of people, how to handle myself in those situations, and how to stand up for myself.

Being LGBT is almost common-place these days, as it's more widely accepted by in media, and I don't know of any guys who would hate to have a bi-sexual girlfriend.

My opinion. I think that stress, pressure, and maybe even mental illness played a larger roll. More people these days are suffering from depression than ever before.

Every school in the country should be required to teach tolerance.
However, the vast majority of churches in this country are Baptist and/or evangelical in nature. Every Sunday if I happen by one of those churches, I think to myself, ‘Houses of Hate.’ That is what they are, and those folks are indoctrinated into hate against nonbelievers PLUS the GLBTQI.
We easily talk about Radical Islam. We admit that most Muslims are just plain folks like us. We know that a few Muslims attend Radical Houses of Islamic Hate. We know they hate the nonbelievers such as most of the people of the USA. We know that is wrong.
We know we are just folks like most Muslims. We know the radicals hate us because they see us as different and offensive for various stupid reasons.
My fellow Americans, be you male or female, be you White, Black, Brown, Asian, or whatever, be you Straight, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersexed, or Queer, be you of any religious faith or none, WELCOME TO THE CLUB OF THE HATED!!! Or more accurately; Welcome to the GBLTQIN (Nonbelievers in Radical Religion, or an atheist or agnostic)!
We are all equally hated by Radical Islam PLUS Radical Christianity. WE ARE all in the same boat according to them. We are all infidels because we do not believers like them, so they believe we must all be killed or converted.
So now, you know how discrimination feels for homosexuals and the like. Because you are an N (Nonbelievers in Radical Religion, or an atheist or agnostic)! Think of that when you remember 9/11.
I say to all the homophobes, that which you hated you have become. Do you find it reasonable? Do you ask how anyone can hate you for being different, believing in god in a different way? How does it feel?
Like I said, Welcome to the Club of the Hated. I’ll bet you never thought you would be a member. Well you are.
Someone or some group will always hate you because you are not like them. Therefore, the next time you bash a fag, remember you are bashing one of your own. Most Americans were awakened to their membership after 9/11; they just did not know they were in the Club of the Hated. So, welcome whether you want to be a member or not. The rest of us were also drafted. Oh BTW, as a member, you also get killed, in wars, terrorist attacks, or on the streets in many places, just like a fag. There is no difference, between killing a fag or killing and infidel. It is all the result of Hate.
We condemn Mosks that teach Radical Islam. We actively protest and work against them the best we can. The question is, how will we respond to our own Houses of Hate?

It sucks that some people have to flaunt their "normalcy" by picking on people who are different from them.
One of my friends throughout middle school was gay and black, and he got fucked with everyday.
He's suffered from chronic depression for 9 years now.

People are so cruel...

This is why, to my peers, I encourage an aggressive approach to anti-gay sentiment. We need to keep our opposition (aka our usual repressors) on the defensive.

Instead of committing suicide they should be going postal on those mother fucking bullies....go get a gun and shoot them dead.

Not just gays, but unhealthy people, workers, soldiers, stillborns, freak accidents......... many people from different walks of life are being culled one way or another. The ones alive when singularity happens will rejoice when imagination becomes reality.

You forget that some people are JUST SUICIDAL. It's unfortunate, but it IS going to happen, , , , to straights AND gays. Thinning of the herd is normal. Don't forget about the thousands of STRAIGHT suicides every year? Gays have it better here in the USA than ANYWHERE ON EARTH. So, stop getting your panties in a bunch, relax, stop rockin'-the-boat, and enjoy life.

Wonder how those of the Religious Right chose to address this problem?

...I will never understand as long as I live, the psychology of a bully...how do we stop it...the isolation they must feel and the need to end it all, just breaks my heart...

I love the surplus of idiots who believe these suicides to be circumstantial or isolated incidents.
Apparently even death isn't convincing enough that harassment against gays in school goes too far.
