N.J. releases highly anticipated rules for dispensing medical marijuana to patients

Application and renewal fees are either $20 or $200, depending on patients’ income level. They can choose how they want to ingest their medication — either by smoking, taking an enhanced lozenge or applying a lotion laced with THC, one of the active ingredients in pot, according to the 97 pages of rules. Patients can receive up to 2 ounces of marijuana per month from their dispensaries, also called "alternative treatment centers.’’

The state also limited the potency of the drug to just 10 percent THC, according to the rules.

    • Its inevitable that marijuana will be legalized in the not so distant future. The government has to realize that it can drastically help us get out of our enormous deficit, create new jobs and also really help people who need marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Stopping Marijuana Prohibition=Greater America for tomorrow

    • Fuck them and their rules and their medical marijuana. They need to get over it, admit they were wrong EVER classifying marijuana as a drug and prosecuting people for it, apologize, get people the hell out of jail, and stop regulating what is and has never been their GOD DAMN BUSINESS to regulate in the first place. I am sick of everyone falling all over themselves as the government drops a few crumbs of our rights back on the road for us to peck at like a flock of chickens.

LEGALIZE IT PERIOD, and get your god damned money grubbing hands off of it.

    • Marijuana needs to be owned and produced by the state to make sure it goes to the ones who truly need it, pure and simple

Co-ops are as far from a corporation as is possible. Everyday citizens growing their own and enough to sell to a dispensary which then sells to other patients. Im all giggles. (Not really)

citizens should not be growing pot, it is the government's job to make sure crime doesn't bother people and they get good healthcare, people are greedy and would steal profits by selling it to the sick, don't buy into Koch

Are you kidding me! It's a plant! We should all be able to grow it ourselves if we want to. It should be exactly the same as having a vegetable garden. If you grow too much & want to sell it you'd have to do it through legal routes, paying tax on it & whatnot. I grew 3 plants this year by accident. I didn't do anything to start or promote their growth except for throw a few seeds out my window. Nature did it on its own. How can you trust our government not to screw up something that nature can do on it own.

If it were legalized those of us who want or need it could grow it ourselves. Most crime associated with marijuana is only there because it is illegal. If it were legalized scientists could study it & make the drugs for the people who really need it. The police could actually focus on the real crimes going on in this country. The hemp industry would rise creating jobs & energy for our country. It would make it so only real criminals, real dangers to society would be in jail. It would help a lot of people.
