"As Governor, Mayor, and Attorney General, Jerry Brown has promoted and defended women's rights," said California NOW President Patty Bellasalma. "Jerry stands for fairness and equality and never ever backs down. We have every confidence that he will do the same as California's next Governor. Um, was it actually Brown who called Whitman a whore, or was it one of Brown's people who called Whitman a whore?

Brown won't win another stint as Governor. He was a disaster the first time.
Can the Liberal Democrats do anything else but slander the opponent? I guess not as this is the apparent face of the party. Slander and spread falsehoods; blame someone else for their failings and attempt to discourage voters from discerning the truth on their own. Happily it won’t work, Hussein Obama and his “change” party have been proven time and again to be incompetent and corrupt. A few more weeks and it will be the beginning of the end for the socialists agenda. - 2 years ago

"I have a plan. I'll tell you after the election." Jerry Brown... That, Whitman's campaign pointed out, sounded a bit like Nixon's "secret plan" for getting out of Vietnam.

For the benefit of those of you who were either too young or not even born when Brown was last governor, we'll take a quick trip down memory lane.
Jerry Brown was a "bachelor." He was, at the time, what polite society referred to as a "confirmed bachelor." A double entendre suggesting that he would either never marry or that he was a homosexual. Reinforcing this suspicion, in 1958 he had enrolled in a Jesuit seminary intent on becoming a Catholic Priest. For unknown reasons he left the seminary and enrolled at U.C. Berkeley.
To dispel rumors of his homosexuality, as governor, Brown was frequently found in the company of a female singer, Linda Ronstadt. Political pundits who claimed to be "in the know" said "Just watch, as soon as Brown leaves office, Linda Ronstadt will be gone." These pundits were right. Brown left office, then he left town for Japan to study Buddhism? Linda Ronstadt did not accompany him. At the end of his first term in office, Brown had gained a second nickname "Governor Ballerina" based upon his ability to pirouette on Political issues like the famous property tax limitation measure Proposition 13. He was against it early on until it became apparent to everybody that it was going to win in a landslide; Brown then came out for the measure. His nickname could have been "Flip Flop" if not for rumors of his homosexuality.
In 1999, Brown became Mayor of Oakland California. A small liberal town where rumors of his being a homosexual actually helped get him elected.
In June of 2005, at the age of 68, Brown got married. Is she a "beard" - Who knows?
As Attorney General, Brown refused to defend Proposition 8 which banned gay marriage in California. It passed with seven million votes in favor and that was in a General Election year with Obama on the ballot and lukewarm support of his Republican rival. Brown will face a much different race this year, 2010, when the electorate will be dominated by older voters, the same voters who most supported the gay marriage ban.
It's a pity Jerry doesn't seem to read his own Facebook page. Does he even know how to use a computer?

you would be, since NOW is just a front group for mean faced, clip haired, militant, abortion supporting lezbian gals. but you know when now first began they were an honorable organization run by altruistic women seeking advancement and better rights for women. unfortunately it was highjacked by those with extremist leftest feminist agenda's who dont even care about womens rights unless they fall into a narrow minded tiny list of causes. mainly the advancement of abortion as a form of birth control. which is ironic since most lezbian gals arent really into child birth. which is a good thing.

Sounds to me that it is a perception thing and a judgment on your part...because I know many women here in Eugene who are not Lesbian and are NOW members and would take offense to your characterization. Lesbians have their own organization and its part of a larger community of members that includes gays, bisexuals, transgendered and queer people as well.

possibly a perception but not a judgement. now has been high jacked by the pro abortion crowd and never speaks up for womens rights outside of their narrow political scope. it originally was an advocacy group for the social, economical and emotional advancement of all women. now they are pretty choosy as to which women they support, generally extreme left leaning clip haired mean faced types. dont find too many straight women that fit those traits.

All fun aside I dont really like meg whitman because of her politics. I think she is a hypocrite regarding immigration and like many people think that the laws always apply to someone else. I think she is really doing this because she has nothing better to do and more money than she knows what to do with. I dont think she has any original thought or ideas for Ca and she is whoring herself out politically to gain a postion of power because she likes it. While Jerry's comment is certainly coarse and impolite I think in a real world it doesnt mean a damn thing. I am sure its not the first time it has been said and from what I understand whitman and her minions have said things just as nasty in their way. Thats politics.

I was referring to the persistent rumours about PG execs being members of the satanist church that many in the company blamed on their rivals in the the home products market Amway. While these rumours were clearly disproved they just wont go away and have gained great traction in Christian circles being believed (here it comes) as "gospel". this discussion just brought thoughts to mind of repeating lies and rumours enough and soon they gain a life of their own and never really die.

It is held by the DeVos and Van Andel families. Richard "dick" DeVos II ran for governor of Michigan last election. During the election he denied that Amway's manufacturing plants were producing goods for sale in America then at one of his press conferences a reporter brought in a teddy bear made by Amway he had bought on the way there with the "made in china" tag still on it. They were also busted in Canada for doing business for over 20 years and evading paying Canadian taxes by having the sales reps send the cash back directly to the state.

Don't really care what Brown thinks of his opponent, all that is really revealed here is that in an unguarded moment Browns comment was captured. . . so what if he said that Whitman is a whore? . . is she, and if so what has that to do with her political posture? . . absolutely nothing!

SAN DIEGO - California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. today released a report, including newly obtained videotapes, that shows some members of the community organizing group ACORN engaged in "highly inappropriate behavior," but committed no violation of criminal laws.
Brown's report also uncovered "likely violations" of state law, including dumping 500 pages of confidential records into a dumpster, failure to file a 2007 tax return, and four instances of possible voter registration fraud by ACORN in San Diego in connection with the 2008 election, as well as other irregularities in the group's California operations. These irregularities have been referred to the appropriate authorities.
