Video: Tea Party Float Depicts Obama Whipping A White ‘Future Tax Payer’ Pulling A Wagon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2b1GWqjRyrQ#t=1m

At the annual Sportsman’s Day parade last weekend in Naches, WA (a small town southeast of Seattle), a tea party group called “Remember Us We The People” — which is affiliated with the Tea Party Patriots — sponsored a float that many local residents are “calling offensive and in bad taste“:

> Local members of the Tea Party sponsored a float, decorated to look like a Radio
> Flyer wagon, pulled behind a truck. In that truck a number of people sat holding
> signs that read everything from “Obama Care” and “Healthcare Take Over” to
> “Wasted Tax Money.”

> But the thing that got people upset was a man in shirt and tie wearing a mask of
> President Barack Obama. In one hand he held a sign that read “Hey Kids! Thanks
> for paying out debt!” In the other hand he held a horse riding crop which he snapped
> at a young teen in front of him pretending to pull the wagon by the handle wearing a
> shirt that read “Future Tax Payer.”

> “It certainly came across as very racist to me, and really bad manners, bottom line,
> lack of manners,” said one local resident, adding, “A lack of respect for our
> presidency and our government, just everything down the line, it was really quite
> disturbing.”

> “Remember Us We The People” president Kirk Groenig said the float “maybe” went
> “a little too far” but nonetheless complained, “When they don’t like your message,
> they try to deem you as racist, that’s really unfortunate.”

> But John Miles, president of the local Lions Club, which put on the event, disagreed.
> “There’s respect for the position (of the presidency) and I think (Groenig) exceeded
> any good taste in his group’s presentation,” he said. (HT: Estate44)

    • So the current President is black, so portraying him as anything but black would be incorrect. And white people are still the majority of Americans, OK. And it is in Washington state, Obama supporter or not, they're probably all white. He has signed bills that will increase our national debt and therefore tax burden on future generations. I don't see any overt racial overtones.

Ignoring the "Main Stream Media" gave the GOP has a witch, a Nazi, a white supremacist, a stoner/want to be doctor, past Medicare criminals, self invented scientist, job killing ceo, many extremists, a Christian who thinks stoning is proper for some crimes, lots of racists, fascists, and someone who thinks bestiality is a good joke.

That is a brief list, there are many more wackos, so good luck with that strategy.

I know you saw my other posts asking the same thing. Its been two days and it pretty much stopped the conversation because THERE ARE NONE. The GOP is MY enemy too. They are doing that to demonize the tea party, which was started by Ron Paul, not FAUX NEWS.

    • Can you imagine the uproar if it was a man wearing a Bush mask whipping a black man pulling a wagon with signs asking "who will fight our wars", or "who will provide cheap labor", "who will provide athletes to amuse us"? This is an outrage and nothing short of something I would expect coming out of Selma, Alabama in the mid sixties.

The tea party is a bunch of angry extremists that try to trick normal people to follow them by covering up what motivates most of them.

They should be deported to Somalia if they don't like government. They really are pushing the limits for what is borderline treason.

You need to get over it, you lost the elections big time 2 years ago, and after you sabotage the country for 2 years you want to lie your way back to power.

    • Politics seems to be all about misinformation, disinformation and ignorance. I am tired of seeing the games played. The Republicans lay a foundation for economic ruin turn the whole mess over to the Democrats and when they fall on their faces trying to figure out the damage control four years have passed and the mud starts slinging again distracting and refocusing the public on what a shitting job the current administration is doing getting our great country back on track as if they can do any better. The public must truly have short term memory problems if we even think that any administration pushing any version of America will solve the problems this country is presently facing.
There are no easy short term(4 year) answers to the economic mess we are in there are only long term solutions. We need to rebuild and retool our country to better take advantage of the current economic environment. No easy task and definitely no short term task. The feds can do things and are trying to do things like finding some savings within the Federal Government and there are many. For instance and IBM CEO postulates that the Fed can save as much as 500 billion dollars by consolidating the Federal supply chain which they are looking at inside the Federal government but as easy as it was to get this country into financial ruin it will be a long hard road getting out of this fine mess both the Republicans and Democrats delivered to we the people.

Heres a letter I found on teh interwebz from (http://www.resistnet.com/forum/topics/latest-on-crashtheteapartyorg?xg_source=ac...)

      Just google: tea party infiltrated

"Here's the Idea: The Tea Party is planning protests/rallies on Thurs 4/15 (tax day).

Check Your Local Tea Party Website For Details...

We're going to attend their rally, but plan to have a bunch of truly ludicrous signs. Things that say "Obama drinks Christian Baby Blood" or "Jesus wrote the constitution". The more misspelled words the better...You could also dress in overalls with no shirt, or a stained "wifebeater" t-shirt, But you get the general idea.

Some other thoughts are to ask people at the rally to sign a petition renouncing socialism. See just how much info you can get from these folks (name address, DOB, Social Security #). The more data we can mine from the Tea Partiers, the more mayhem we can cause with it!!!!

      Yours Truly

I watched the video you posted on who the real slave owners are. It quotes Orwell "Freedom is slavery, slavery is freedom" and shows excerps of the movie 1984. Were you aware that George Orwell was a socialist? He fought interests the facists in Spain, was very critical of Soviet communism, but he was a socialist.
I do agree with some of your points, such as Dems or GOP not being a real choice but a perpetuation of the status quo, but I don't agree with your conclusions.
The government we have, although "democraticly elected", is not controled by its citizens, but by the powerful corporate interests and the wealthy. Because we have an inept government doesn't mean government is inherently inept. We as humans are still evolving and learning how to create a just and open society. A good government is responsive to the people. Governmet idealy is an instrument people use to achieve the common welfare, not as a means of enslavement. In the absence of government, the people are unable to defend themselves against the injustices from those who mean to enslave them by cotroling the wealth and natural resources.
The sad part about it is that we could probably agree in many things, but it is in the interest of those in power to keep us divided. The corporate "liberal" media poisons political discourse for power and profit. Race is often used as a wedge to keep discourse uncivil and irrational. We may not agree with the solutions, but you must understand that government is us, or at least it should be. It should be forged from our common goals and aspirations. We either survive together or die divided. You shouldn't be surprised to have an inept government when you put people in power who want to destroy it and believe of it to be the enemy.

Why do you not blame corporations that were the reason for the economic collapse?

After all, it was the banks that caused this mess! Also mainly by the republican party that deregulated 60 year old laws that kept our monetary institutions functioning without a glitch until they were deregulated.

This should be a lesson to all the people that think corporations can self regulate.

The problem is that corporate greed does not have rules or morals. It will do what ever it can to maximize it's profit, ( this is econ 101) even if it means it will collapse the entire economy of the world.

It breaks down like this, A few CORPORATIONS srold our money, and billions of People suffered........... according to the libertarian ideal, this is exactly it, survival of the greediest!

You keep posting this video, but I guess you didn't notice everything that was wrong with it, or the false premise it uses, so I'll point them out.
All animals are afraid of death, this is why they have fear in the first place, because it keeps the from being eaten, and people have always been afraid of death, we didn't just become afraid of death one day like the video says. It also makes the assumption that all leaders are evil. You really think that once someone stops being a private citizen and gets elected, suddenly they just become evil? Yet you think that all people will behave responsibly and corporations won't be ten times more evil once no one is watching them?
To make a point, this video tries to use history, but If you're trying to use history as an example, you have to do it accurately, instead of making sweeping generalizations to apply to every government. For example, there were taxes in ancient Rome, and before then too, it wasn't introduced in the Feudal ages. There were also still serfs working on land they didn't own after the feudal ages. Your video also says the industrialists took advantage of the cheap labor flooding into the cities, but industrialists would mean business owners, not the government. The government doesn't take all your money and then give it to the president and congresspeople, in fact, their pay is much lower than that of the people who make up the rich elite. This video is operating under the premise that we are all still run by kings. We don't have "rulers," at least not in this country, it just sounds like bitching coming from people that live in a free country, when there actually are countries that have slaves. In fact I've been to a place where there is still bonded labor, have you? I think that it's important to see something firsthand if you're going to act like an expert on it.
The author had to say that public schools are how the government brainwashes it's people, of course. You must have gone to a private school if you believe that, since private schools are unbiased. I certainly know that the government indoctrinated me when I went to school. What a gigantic insult that is to everyone who doesn't agree with you. Obviously we're too dumb or too brainwashed to be as enlightened as you, because we went to a government school. You're the same person who says that government schools don't work, but you believe that they work really well at brainwashing everyone? I know at my school we always talked about how we should pay our overlords on time and the teachers made sure that we understood there was no corruption in the glorious government, and to never question our leaders, since the teachers get all of that taxpayer money that makes them so rich, they'll stay quiet. Have you ever met a single school teacher? They're despicable agents of the government, let me tell you.
Paying taxes does not constitute human ownership, just wanted to reiterate. People who are in charge of the american government are elected, that means before they were officials, they were private citizens, who is the evil leader controlling everything? There must be a mastermind somewhere in all of this.
"The government that starts off the smallest, will always end up the largest." That statement makes no sense. I think Andorra's government started pretty small. Yet that is the assumption that proves why anarchy is the solution to a made up problem? Taxation isn't violence either. Again, you really diminish the actual meaning of a word when you use it when it's not appropriate. I know paying taxes is very painful, oh how I wish government wasn't there, I could do everything better on my own!
Sorry to tell you, but there are ridiculous holes in your story.

    • toastyguy11:

Haha ok well, let me do the same...
First of all, do you know any animals on a personal level? Do they talk about fear of death a lot? I wouldn't be surprised if you said yes. But science has shown that animals are not necessarily afraid of death, but rather pain, because most are unaware of the concept of dying. You can argue with that maybe, but "All animals are afraid of death, thats why the have fear in the first place" is absurd on more than two levels.
It NEVER made the assumption that all leaders are evil, nor has shanklinmike. The SYSTEM is evil and people are ELECTED TO THE SYSTEM, after or before being elected. BUSINESS LEADERS AS WELL.
"Yet you think that all people will behave responsibly and corporations won't be ten times more evil once no one is watching them?" NO WHERE in the video did it say to get rid of ALL RESTRAINTS ON PEOPLE AND BUSINESS. This comment also shows your lack of historical understanding, as we used to have many more restraints on business to the point of permanent corporations being ILLEGAL.
Your next point only supports shanklinmike's point, just because it didn't say there were taxes in rome, doesn't mean it said there weren't taxes in rome, or that it was invented later, got that? Plus, since the gentleman in the video was talking about the same system, your pointing out that there were also taxes in rome supports his theory.
DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB 4 A 13 MIN VIDEO SPANNING HUNDREDS OF YEARS, SORRY HE LEFT SOME UNIMPORTANT YET SUPPORTIVE POINTS OUT.
"There were also still serfs working on land they didn't own after the feudal ages. Your video also says the industrialists took advantage of the cheap labor flooding into the cities, but industrialists would mean business owners, not the government." What is your point with this? Are saying that politicians cannot be industrialists? That evil people inside business and politics don't work TOGETHER? The companies DO IT and the POLITICIANS ALLOW IT. Your comment right after that is even more ignorant, but in the same realm, because it shows your lack of understanding of the CORRUPT POLITICIAN-BUSINESSMAN relationship. That is, that the businessman financially supports the politician, directly or indirectly, who hopefully wins, therefor ensuring that that business leader's company does very well in that state/country, with regulatory inaction (dividend/foreclosure crisis), exemption (mcdonalds and 29 other firms exempt from Obamacare), false flag attacks resulting in war (9/11; gulf of tonkin), or free money (creation of federal reserve system; banker bailouts). Probably more you could think of. Well maybe not you..
"This video is operating under the premise that we are all still run by kings. We don't have rulers," no it isn't, its operating under the premise that things at the top haven't changed much since then. Stop putting words in peoples mouths.
So where is this place with bonded labor that you've been to? Funny you didn't mention the name, probably because its a lie. Also the nature of your statement implies that YOU ARE AN EXPERT, but it doesn't sound like you could be an expert at ANYTHING, at least i hope not deemed one, and certainly are NOT in this area of knowledge.
As far as your RANT and nonsensical BUTT-HURTNESS about public education, is just willfully ignorant and shows how much you haven't learnt since exiting school. They don't blatantly indoctrinate kids in school today because they could not get away with it, but more has to do with what they DON'T tell you. Just read Lies My Teacher Told Me, or google it to find something similar. The teachers are the often the semi-brainwashed students of yester-year. And teachers nowadays DON'T GET TO CHOOSE WHAT TO TEACH, they are given all the information by the state in the form of textbooks. WRITTEN BY THE CORPORATIONS. And in a historical sense what you have described as not possible, that a teacher could be working for the state knowingly, has happened many times in history.
You used the word REITERATE wrong in the next section, just had to point that out. Oh and the point in that same sentence WAS NEVER MADE by shanklinmike or the video. More putting words in people's mouths and setting up straw men.
Next, let me just answer your obvious confusion: The Rockefellers, Ford Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Rothchilds, Bilderburg Group, etc...
"The government that starts off the smallest, will always end up the largest."
This is how it makes sense: lets say you have one country with 3 rulers that rule the entire land; and in another country you have 3 branches of government each with 1, 20, and 500 members. Which one will fall to tyranny first? YOU FAIL AGAIN.
"Again, you really diminish the actual meaning of a word when you use it when it's not appropriate." I never heard that from the video, must have missed that part, huh..

And that, as they say, is that. *LOAD CHEERING*

If you are referring to Goldman Sachs involvment in every major recession in the last 150 years yes that is a documented fact. All three major incidents involved overheated bubble markets that were in part created and maintained by them and other major banks who cashed out and held on after the crash to do it again. Try Matt Tablia in Rolling Stone archives over the last 2 years. He explains in mostly in plain english the whole background of the crash in 2007 and prior bad acts.

Then, in January the adults will be in charge and the man-child will be sitting on his worthless ass wondering how he can push his agenda up our collective rearends without communists in control of the government.

On the "racisim" note, the man-child is just as much a white man as he is a black man. So, how does it rate that if someone objects to his evil agenda they are a racist? Racist against which half? If the man-child was all white, he would be just as out of touch with normal America as he is being just half white. What difference does it make?!?!? LMAO. All you get is a broken heart. Only the true believers thought that Obama was going to be able to make government be better. TWO YEARS AGO
(not to mention that no one would have ever known who the name of Jeremiah Wright was if it wasn't for Racism AGAINST President Obama from the Reactionary Radical Right, [Fanatical Fundamentalist Faux "News"])
the so-called quote-en-quote "Tea-Baggers" would need to renounce and denounce their very OWN so-called quote-en-quote "Tea Party"
the Republican "Tea Party" GOP and its radical fanatical racism is NOT in any way dealt with

    • gurper707:

The so-called quote-en-quote "Tea Party" was started by the Faux "News" channel network
who tirelessly and relentlessly promoted the FIRST so-called quote-en-quote "Tea-Bagger" rallies endlessly, non-stop in the summer and fall of 2009
Ron Paul has run unsuccessfully in every national political campaign of this century
      AS A REPUBLICAN
Ron Paul, is, has been, and will be (until he finally, at long last, gets booted out of office) a lifelong member of the REPUBLICAN PARTY (also known as the GOP)
the Faux "News" channel network is the media outlet mouthpiece of the Republican "Te-Party" GOP
the so-called quote-en-quote "Tea Party" could not have been co-opted by the Republican Party, if the Republican party STARTED the so-called quote-en-quote "Tea-Party"

The first "Tea Bagger" in the fall of 2009 were comprised of racist, homophobic, xenophobic and bigoted radical reactionary fanatics
The so-called quote-en-quote "Tea Party" could not have been co-opted by racists, if the so called quote-en-quote "Tea Party" was racist from its very beginning

    • I love how all these WHITE SLAVES can muster those BIG JOYFUL SMILES while holding signs about how they are being OPPRESSED.

Are they getting all this Joy from falsely accusing a black president of being a slave master, or are they secretly hoping the powerful black man will force his big agenda down their throats?

Either way they seem to be TICKLED PINK that we have a BLACK president.

    • Oh my goodness. If it involves Obama and it's negative it MUST be racism. What a bunch of horsecrap. Demonstrates that the only way to counter the truth about Obama is to hurl perjoratives. Sad, very sad. Says volumes about the desperation of his supporters.
