Murdering Islamo-facist Goes to Trial

A U.S. military tribunal has opened a hearing to decide if an Army major should stand trial for last year's shooting spree at the Fort Hood base in Texas that killed 13 people and left more than 40 others wounded.

The accused, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was left paralyzed by bullet wounds inflicted after he allegedly opened fire at the base on November 5, 2009.

The so-called "Article 32" hearing is the U.S. military's equivalent of a grand jury hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to bring Hasan, 40, to trial.

The hearing is expected to include testimony from Army personnel who witnessed the shooting rampage.

Hasan, who faces 13 counts of premeditated murder, is alleged to have links to Islamic extremism, including contact with an Al-Qaeda-linked cleric based in Yemen.

Many soldiers who have been based at Fort Hood have deployed to the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. http://www.rferl.org/content/Hearing_Scheduled_To_Begin_In_Case_Of_Accused_Fort_...

    • First off Muslims do not generally wear Turbans. Most racists are to stupid to know this and a LOT of Indians were getting their asses kicked inadvertently after 9/11. Secondly there is no doubt this guy deserves the Death Penalty, but the Government bears a LOT of blame here as well.

It is VERY well documented that this guy had been trying to get a medical discharge from the Army for well OVER a year before this incident took place. MANY of his patients complained that he seemed unstable. All the while the Government NEVER once had him go through a Psych eval himself.

I suspect had the Government done this the Solders at Fort Hood would be alive today. The "STOP LOSS" policy of the Federal Government SUCKS!

    • News articles, real news that is, should not engage in name calling. News should give us the facts. Free Speech and liberty allows us, the reader, to decide upon what names we want to ascribe to to the content or persons the news is about. That is why we call it NEWS. Any self respecting journalist would know this. Of course, after years of Fox News is it any wonder that the fourth estate has resigned itself to the respectability of a cheap tabloid? The guy is an Islamo-Fascist, in my opinion. But, the news should not be about opinions--or about giving me an opinion to hold that is the writers. I should just have the facts to make up my own mind. If the news does not do this, then it is no longer news. It is an opinion piece and should be labeled as such. This piece is slanted from the start, and is for people who would prefer others do their thinking for them. In that, it is no different from anything one would see on Fox "News."

The guy deserves a trial because that is how we handle things in this country where we value our freedom and liberty. And, when he is found guilty, which he most likely will be, we have prisons for people who violate the freedom and liberty of others. That is the difference between justice and mob rule. One is the rule of law. The other is ruled by emotion.

the report isnt biased, i cut and posted from the original article. the headline speaks the truth so no bias there either. as with any journalist i post them as i see them. can you name me any journalist who isnt biased? any who say they arent are liars. whether its voice inflections or double meanings, all the pros are obviously biased. cnn biasd, fox biased. everyone biased. at least i can give you credit for recognizing this guy as a prick. maybe the heading should have read...murdering islamo-facist prick goes to court, yes i think that would improve it. thanks for the advice my friend.

    • I hope Mr. Hasan has a chance to have his thoughts recorded and shared with the rest of us. I want to understand the situation from his perspective. No doubt, he deserves punishment, however, he is a Muslim that grew up in the United States, not the caves of Afghanistan. This is not a person linked to any terrorist organization, besides the U.S. Military. I believe Americans could benefit a great deal from understanding the culture they are responsible for breeding and endorsing in one way or another. The hateful rhetoric spouted here on this post is exactly the type of problems this country needs to over-come. Mr Hasan had been driven crazy by other military men. Reacting to his murderous out-burst with more discrimination and de-moralizing Islam only adds to what had caused the problem in the first place. I can only pity ignorance so much, when it is served with such arrogance.

uhhhhh, i believe the ignorance is in your court my friend. there is nothing the american people need to understand other than this guy is a certifiable, murdering islamo-facist whacko! he had plenty of ties with homicidal dicktards in the middle east. he was in communication with some of them before his unjustifiable murderous slaughter on innocent and honorable american soldiers who are justifiably trying to protect apologist head in the sand idiots for christ sake. The problem with a lot of these freaks is that they are islamo-facists first, americans second. you think the rhetoric on here is hateful? try listening to some of their psycho imams or al jazeera. discrimination and profiling is exactly whats needed to protect the innocent from these 7th century cut throat bastards who have never learned how to get along with their neighbors.

hey im all for love and compassion and understanding, but when you open fire you cross a line that cannot be uncrossed. He choose to kill, he chose to kill his comrades in arms, to attack the military of the US, we didnt hold a gun to his head and say you must hate us he made that choice. Lets have some personal responsibility instead of trying to explain everything away that we find uncomfortable.

I dont want to to give Mr. Hasan a break or free pass. I just want to understand how he justified his actions before he gets executed. If we just execute one killer after another, without ever inquiring the psyche behind it, society could breed murderous behavior. To simply execute every killer would never solve the real problem. The killers are a symptom of a toxic society that needs to be examined if we plan on truly healing. How else can we understand what influence society has on killers if we execute them all without hearing from them? ---that's all I'm saying.

So I take it that Mr. Hasan was not treated with resentment, discrimination, bullying, or any other type of negative coercion by White-Christian-American-Military men. He just went out of his way to align himself with terrorist ideology. By "ties with homicidial dicktards in the middle east", you mean the sites he visited, the chatting he did with Radical Muslims from his home in Texas, where he grew up, right?

Al Jazeera may allow Radical Muslims to express hateful rhetoric towards the West and the U.S., but that only makes up for such a minute factor of what Al Jazeera is. To be just, Al Jazeera typically airs views that are far way more moderate than they are extreme. There will always be criticism of the West, but it has developed to be constructive criticism.

"discrimination and profiling is exactly whats needed to protect the innocent from these 7th* century cut throat bastards who have never learned how to get along with their neighbors."

Dont you mean 17th Century? Think about it.

I have only had my comments flagged three times in all the years I have been on Current. One of which was a comment directed towards you. Don't talk to me about integrity and love of life.

to answer your first paragraph, yeah pretty much. your second one, you dont know what the fuck youre talking about and the same goes for your last paragraph. its a good thing that we have dedicated, loyal and intelligent people working behind the scenes who continue to profile undetected keeping america relatively safe and secure. if we had folks like you directing traffic for homeland security we'd have had another 9/11 by now.

    • The best punishment for this scumbag Islamonazi is to put him to work on a pig farm for the rest of his life. Humiliation and defeat will be his lot. And he doesn't get the 72 virgins. Death and martyrdom is what he wants. It must not be given to him. Make him really suffer.

i always forget how wierd it must be for an outsider trying to understand us, having to rifle through 50 different states.it seems so run of the mill to us, but it is probably a wierd thing.

...yep, I'm a bit of a lone prawn on the barbie here, and I had an inkling Texas had the death penalty, but wanted to clarify...it just comes down to one thing for me...he murdered 13 people in cold blood, and wounded countless others...I will reserve my sympathy for the families who lost a precious human being...
