The fat lady who threw a cat into a garbage bin has avoided being sent to the slammer herself. However, Mary Bale — the perp caught by the UK’s ubiquitous surveillance cameras — has been fined 265 pounds ($420) for animal cruelty (per Reuters). She could have received a sentence of up to six months in jail — should she have?

    • Wow... what the fuck? Is there more to this story or is it just some random cat she saw and she's just really fucking cruel? I mean maybe it's some annoying neighbor's cat (which still makes it horrible) or she's somewhat psycho, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to justify it. It's just hard to believe.

    • I'm sadly not surprised. She should have spent three to six months in jail, and then been ordered to work (under careful supervision) at a pound for the next six months... or at an animal rescue/rehabilitation sanctuary.
