“I haven’t seen a half-monkey, half-person yet.”
Not content with coming off as a moron with that last line, Beck goes on to say:
They have to force it down your throat. When anyone has to force it, it’s a problem. You didn’t have to force that the world was round. You didn’t have to.
Truth is truth. You don’t have to force the truth. You just keep adding evidence and evidence and evidence and evidence until it becomes self-evident.
Wow. It’s hard to imagine that anyone could pack so much crap into a couple of sentences. But then again, we’re talking Beck here, the ultimate bullshit/idiot-meister. I’m not going to bother trying to refute nonsense of this sort. I’ve wasted too many hours of my life debating people like Beck – simpletons who would rather hang on to childish fairy tales then actually do the study necessary to allow for intelligent debate. But if you do care, MediaMatters puts in the attempt here.
I’ll just say for the hundredth time that evolution does not speak of the existence of god or gods or for that matter, the beginnings of life. It says only that the diversity of life we see around us has come about in the most beautiful and elegant of ways – evolution. It is the individual’s choice to study and know or remain clouded in ignorance. What is not an option though, is forcing their self-imposed ignorance down the throat of schoolchildren.

I have a hard time believing in evolution as the only explanation.
My reason is, there were crocodiles millions of years ago. Today, they're exactly the same.
Why haven't they changed? -They've had millions of years to evolve. Why is it humans evolved so quickly?
Also, Intelligent Design opens the door for Aliens being that Intelligence.
-Which makes sense...but still sounds crazy. - 1 year ago

Easy.. Because crocodiles and alligators, which are APEX predators, haven't had the need to evolve on... Same with the sharks.. The White Shark is, in every way, the perfect hunter, perfectly evolved for what it does..
Evolution also opens the door for extraterrestrial life, since the same forces which has developed life on earth, also can develop life on other planets.. if not the same way, but with same results..

Intelligent Design is the biggest oxymoronic stupidity ever spouted from the "Moral Majority" or Rightwing Christians.. It would be just hilarious, hasn't it been for the fact that the same people has managed to sneak it into science-classes under the guise that it should be taught as an "alternative" to the theory of evolution.

Funny, as an LDS, when I went on Sundays they always taught us to be tolerant of other religions, and to talk to people about them.
Also check out this study. It shows which groups, in America, know the most about religion.

I have no problem if a religious person says that evolution is just the way that God works through natural laws. I dont necessarily agree but at least they arent outright denying evolution like this fool is. I especially hate it when people use the argument that evolution is a "theory" so its open to debate. Yeah just like the theory of general relativity and plate tectonics are open to debate. These idiots dont realize that theories are the highest level of scientific consensus and are therefore widely recognized by the scientific community as being fact. Creationism is about as scientifically valid as unicorns and leprechauns.

If you go the way of theistic evolution, i can see what you are saying except we cant prove god so its not irrefutable but i can see how you think so. At the same time we cant prove aliens don't or do exist ether, and i know some people who think aliens have played a role in evolution. I don't but i will support the idea of ETA (extra terrestrial assisted) evolution because it is equal to theistic evolution we cant prove or disprove both of them as a whole yet.

So you think we all came from a little micro organism that change into, LIONS, TIGERS AND SNAKES, some turned into people other turned into elephants, rats ect. What created the first micro organism ? What came first the chicken or the egg ? No one has figured this out but I guess they haven't met you yet !! While your at why don't you, lets Say inyour spare time solve this damn financial crisis we are having. God don't exist only smart people like you. Please read about evolution before spewing your stupidty all over the screen. Over the course of hundreds of MILLIONS of years life evolved from simple single celled organisms to simple multicellular organisms then to more and more complex multicellular organisms. In fact you can see evolution at work in the common flu virus which mutates into a new form every season, allowing it to infect people who have already contracted the flu before. Just because something is difficult to grasp does NOT automatically mean "God did it". Thats just a cop out answer. Try to use that pink stuff between your ears everyone once in a while... its good for you.

Not exactly true. These people are professionals who pride themselves on understanding the issues and write their scripts with the help of their staff. Obama uses a teleprompter to insure he doesn't miss important points of his speech. All Presidents have speech writers but the contents have to meet the President's approval and express what they are wanting to say.

Actually, I think it doesn't matter what he believes, he's a total intellectual whore, he says what he is told to say by Frank Lutz and Karl Rove and funded by an Australian and a Saudi. 30 mill for shooting his mouth off for a year, no matter how many people are killed by violence inspired by his insane and hateful rhetoric. You can tell its canned speak, because all of the GOP whores say the same things, tell the same lies and try to instill lots and lots of fear until people are killing their neighbors. They will certainly be too busy to try to get a fair tax system that might take a few bucks from the soulless super-rich that he whores for. A soul whore is maybe a more appropriate label, just like all those so-called Christians who preach for hate and war, charlatans all! Jesus would not like any of them. He would throw over their tables!

Someone needs to explain evolution to him, using small words without too many syllables.
We didn't come from monkeys BTW. Humans and modern apes had a common ancestor down the line, it's a massive difference. Saying humans came from monkeys is like saying your brother is your great grandmother- it's just completely wrong.
Part of explaining evolution to creationists is knowing what you're actually talking about in the first place.

or maybe the standard by wich one makes judgements should be unilateral, not liberal in some areas, and strict in others.maybe we should expect a rational mind who doesnt believe in evolution "cuz he didnt see it", to also question religion, as he hasnt seen god either.
i live in a religious area, and i do pest control.it always cracks me up when i go into peoples houses and its wall to wall christian stuff, with ever coffee and night table having a joel olstein book on them.not because religion is inherently funny, but it is always these people who question if i sprayed a particular area of thier house, cuz they didnt see it.they sit fixed in thier living rooms watching the view or ellen as i pass by them going through thier house, but because they cant see through walls, they question wether or not i sprayed other rooms.as if when not in thier view im just sitting on thier beds reading a magazine or something.
the same people who believe unconditionaly that a being they never met, created all of existance in 7 days, and all of man kind came from adam and eve, find the idea that i sprayed thier guest bedroom inconcievable.wich event, should be questionable.wether or not i did my job that i do every day, customer after customer.or folk lore handed down over 6 thousand years.
i didnt spray thier garage cuz they didnt see it.but noah built the arc withou a doubt.really reasoanbale, rational thought.evolution is rediculous, but satan is a talking snake totaly reasonable.

I once heard a Christian say: Science proves God's existence, by unraveling His mechanics. (quote shortened, hate long posts) Wish the majority of them felt that way, and hadn't suppressed it all through the past, maybe we'd be on Mars and beyond by now.

An non-contentious question: If Christianity is the true path to peace and love, why did it rely on a sword point to spread it's influence and message? Science has been hobbled by Christian Religion since it was firmly seated in Rome. Our political directions revolve around the $ and Christians fork it hand over fist, so logic and advancement suffer in lieu of faith.

it seems far less insidious and more smple to me.both religion and science are a means by wich we understand our existance.as human beings we have a simple thought process stuck in duality.black/white good/bad right/wrong and science/religion.
they are actualy methodologies that run concurrently.independant of one another, and our nature has us instinctively choose one over the other.as far as all the mess religion has brought, the scape goat is man's free will.and it is unfortunately true.the same christianity that gae us the dark ages, also gave us the renissance.the same islam that fancies a good martyr every now and again, gave us civilization.it has less to do with religion, and more to do with us being sheep.

I saw a video on Youtube that showed a photo session with Glenn Beck where he explained to the stylists that he used Vick's vapo rub to induce tears when he needed them. This is so incredibly calculated and cynical that it causes me to wonder about everything he says. He shows he is quite cunning here, so he can he really be as idiotic as he appears to be, or is it all a show to make money? Here we are, all typing away about him, and isn't this really just what he wants? The attention?
I am reminded of all the controversy created by Bobby's Riggs offensively sexist remarks before the famous Riggs/Billy Jean King tennis challenge when she totally trounced him. (I know I am really dating myself here) To some extent it was to generate an audience and he did not truly believe the things he said, but it was probably the most watched tennis match ever up until that time, and the sport became immensely popular because of it.
I have to wonder about Glenn Beck. I think he is getting rich by creating controversy, but I have to wonder if he really is that stupid.
Still, it is also helping the popularity of my favorite comediens, as he give them so much material. What bothers me most is the people who actually do respond to him and believe him. This is a group of Americans that are vulnerable and are looking something to believe in as they find their security and hope disappear. There were way to many people attending his rally; seeing that response certainly intrudes on my comfort zone. The Young Turks did a report that he is losing sponsors by the score. This is encouraging.

I believe there are many sane and decent people. For the most part they are going about their lives and minding their own business, which is what sane people tend to do. Or perhaps comment on articles such as this.
It is, unfortunately, the zanies like Beck who scream attention and get it. I see by the MSNBC commentors that there is the other side of the pendulum-intelligent, analytical minds that reasonably examine issues and direct queries without bias for party or political bent. Unfortunately, if they question Fox news and their bias, they get labled "Liberals" or "Unamerican" as if looking at things with a balanced, clear view is unpatriotic.
I thought Boston Legal was a great show for facing those issues in an entertaining way.
But that is Fox news, I am a first hand witness to how they have misrepresented a situation utterly. Have you ever seen the documentary "Outfoxed" ? - 1 year ago

The good and reasonable Americans have stood by and let the deceitful and ignorant gain a fearful amount of power and we may lose control of our country too them on Nov. 2nd.
