Richard strengthens into 10th Atlantic Basin hurricane; 2010 tied for sixth place for most hurricanes

Data from an Air Force Reserve unit hurricane hunter aircraft confirmed Richard had intensified to hurricane strength Sunday morning in the Western Caribbean, becoming the tenth hurricane of the 2010 season.
