Beds sold for $1m dollars are found to be made from Madagascan wood, with the current political situation in Madagasca being blamed for the export.

"The pre-existing problem of illegal logging was turned into a flood of tree-cutting in national parks, and a flood of wood out of Madagascar to China and the West," said Alexander von Bismarck, EIA's executive director."-BBC

The article says it is forbidden to export three of the species being cut down ebony, rosewood and pallisander but permits to cut them down is being sold cheaply increasing how many are felled.
