Is Reality Real

The universe-as-hologram theory is predicated on the idea that spacetime is not perfectly smooth, but becomes discrete and pixelated as you zoom in further and further, like a low-res digital image. This idea isn’t novel; recent experiments in black-hole physics have offered evidence that this may be the case, and prominent physicists have proposed similar ideas. Under this theory, the universe actually exists in two dimensions and the third is an illusion produced by the intertwining of time and depth. But the false third dimension can’t be perceived as such, because nothing travels faster than light, so instruments can’t find its limits.
This is theoretical physics at its finest, drowning in complex mathematics but short on hard data. So Fermilab particle astrophysicist Craig Hogan and his team are building a “holometer” to magnify spacetime and see if it is indeed as noisy as the math suggests it might be at higher resolution. In Fermilab’s largest laser lab, Hogan and company are putting together what they call a “holographic interferometer,” which – like a classic interferometer – will split laser beams and measure the difference in frequencies between the two identical beams.
But unlike conventional interferometers, the holometer will measure for noise or interference in spacetime itself. It’s actually composed of two interferometers – built one atop the other – that produce data on the amount of interference or “holographic noise.” Since they are measuring the same volume of spacetime, they should show the same amount of correlated jitter in the fabric of the universe. It will produce the first direct experimental insight into the fundamental nature of space and time, and there’s no telling what researchers delving into that data might find out about the holographic nature of the universe.
So enjoy the third dimension while you still can. Construction on the first instrument is already underway, and Hogan thinks they will begin collecting data on the very nature of spacetime itself by next year.

The is no Reality it was replaced with another Reality that was canceled out by another so nothing is real .all is chaos . You are not real nothing is real .. it is dream and soon the dreamer will awaken and we are will be nothing...

Ask yourself this: "Do I Exist?"
Now, think about this quote: "I Think, Therefore, I Am."
Now, consider this: What is more legitimate? A question, or assumed knowledge?
Obviously you exist, in this Universe and Dimension.
However, there are infinite amounts of Universe's and Dimensions, at least theoretically.
Who's to say that you exist in every alternate dimension? What is life? What is death? Why am I even here, when my life is so trivial compared to the vastness of the Universe? Do I matter? Am I really made up of matter?
All of our knowledge is assumed, because knowledge is collective, and we know nothing for sure.
We assume that 1+2=3, and it does, in simple, practical, linear circumstances.
However, we must always remember, that we, humans, created the Numeric and Algebraic systems. They are absolute, because we created them so.
However, nothing is absolute in the natural world.
In an Alternate Dimension 1+3 may equal 2. Why? Because the physics, and thus are Numeric Systems, Would be different.
Nothing is as whole as the numbers "1", "2", or "3" in the natural world.
Why? Because they are human created.
Noone is there to tell us the answers to the Universe, so we must assume, and take those general, or specific assumptions are true.
And So Ask Yourself: "Do I Exist?"
Or More Importantly: "Why Do I Exist, And Who Am I?" - 1 year ago

this is a extremely badly written editorial. nothing about this has to do with a holographic universe. which is a question of preception. we already cant see a quark, just its shadow. the energy produced by current projects we can barely get a glimmer into particle physcics.
please dont get your theoretical physics info from a site called darkgoverment
thanks

they always questioned this stuff. this article is bs though. but the debate on 3d universre goes back to the holographic universe..which fermilab isnt looking into. but essentially cosmology and now particle physics have always asked the question. what is reality? what;s its basis. the science that exists if people investigated more is wilder then any science fiction out there...certainly better then this crap article.

Ok so researchers are basically trying to find out what reality is, which is just mind-bending in its self, and to do this they have to build a 'holometer' which will give us some answer to this metaphysical conundrum? Yet we do not have the answer to replace the century old tradition of burning fossil fuels and stopping the acceleration of global warming?

True reality is an infinite and unified consciousness, and in its least entropic state is pure love. In our current perceptual states, we are only capable of observing an infintesimal amount of the information around us. It is through the practice of deep concentrative meditation that one can transcend the bounds of our perception and take a glimpse at reality through the eyes of the unified consciousness. As ones awareness exponentially grows, your total awareness of self begin to include all of your environment. You begin a journey to realize that you are "all". As one delves deeper and deeper their conscious awareness will continue until they feel united with the entire universe as an non-dualistic whole, unbound of the ego. Past the journey of the universe one may gain awareness of all levels and deepness of reality. Now these deeper and deeper levels of reality can just be seen as holographic projections from the same source. An important property of holograms is that they are self similar, just like fractals. Meaning that no matter where you look amongst the information contained within the hologram, one can always decipher the information of the whole.
Now science has finally begun to catch up and is realizing that our perception is a holographic product, or a holomovement. Our current neurophysiological state acts as the "frequency tuner" for our brains, while the brains act as the radio. Our brains are tuned into the infinite unified hologram of consciousness. Our perceptual state, based on neurochemical mechanisms, and influenced by the minds and hearts intention, emotion, and mood, produce our brains own unique signal where it can then be in resonance with some form of reality produced from the unified hologram. So bottomline, this physical reality we are experiencing right now is a product of our personal consciousness with the unified, conscious hologram. Our personal consciousness, our brains, all matter, everything, are all projections from this unified hologram. WIthin this unified hologram, everything exists in a quantum flux of virtuality and probability. It takes our personal consciousness to interact with this unified field to produce any of the infinite realities contained with the super-hologram. Now this happens, every second, every nanonsecond, maybe every plank second. Our current conscious states can be broken into milliseconds right now, but who knows how much deeper it will go. The point is that at every moment of your consciousness, your consciousness is creating and interpreting a form of reality that you at that time were consciously in resonance with. So we create our own reality at every instance of your awareness, no matter how deep or complex. So anyone who can learn to slow their awareness down to these levels of manifestation will be capable of transcending current paradigms of reality through higher levels of awareness.
So one more thing to point out here. The mechanism in which the hologram is read is through electromagnetic processes. We are electromagnetic beings, as is the majority of the universe. Our energetic body(our true connection to what is real), based upon the chakra and kundulini system, relies on electromagnetic processes to drive the physical body. I hope you enjoyed my food for thought. This is my personal theory of consciousness at the current time and it is very life changing to think is such a manner. I truly believe something of this nature will lead to a true theory of consciousness.
Some people's work to check out include:
David Bohm - theoretical physicists who developed the holomovement theory. He wrote his book about this in Wholeness and the Implicate Order..
Amit Gotsawmi - author of the Self-Aware Universe, proclaims the coming and need for a new science encompassing consciousness and a science of the heart. He is also trying to prove the Tibetan Book of the Dead, in certain respects.
Thomas Campbell - author of My Big TOE, a physicist capable of OBE to alternate realities confirms nearly everything I have just said. He has his own theory of everything which encompasses a lot of information theory and is based onhis personal OBE experience. I am currently learning how to encounter OBE but through a different method (tactile imaging vs visualization)
Robert Bruce - tactile imaging OBE expert, developed new way of looking at chakras.

They are definitely on the right track. In the far future, we are going to discover many more dimensions to reality. We are on the verge of realizing that our perceptions are an incredbily infinitesimal filter to reality, blocking out the non-rational aspects of the universe. It all started with David Bohm, who introduced the theory of the holomovement and the implicate order. Fascinating man, Check out the basics about his theory on this blog I recently found. http://www.hydrogen2oxygen.net/ It also has many topics concerning the new scientific revloution that is underway.

I love philosophy.
Along the lines of "I think therefore I am", for this to be true from anyone's perspective wouldn't one have to be the butterfly? If it's all a butterfly's dream, then where is the butterfly? If the butterfly exists, then it's not all just a butterfly's dream, because there exists at least a butterfly and the environment which sustains it.
