A chief Magistrate was upset when Tomas John Collins called him mate and told Collins to address him as "sir or your honour". Collins replied with "okay mate" and was sent to the cells for a short time before returning to apologise.
Though the kinda hilarious incident has caused a local councilman to ask for anger management to all Queensland magistrates,
"It is getting out of control,'' he said. Some of these magistrates see themselves as Lord of the Fiefdom.
He said there was nothing ``more Australian than calling someone mate'' and it was hard to believe someone could be locked up for using the word."-Couriermail

Pro tip: Life's a lot simpler if you don't bother messing with a judge and calling him exactly what he's just told you not to.
