Im a e-4 with 2 kids, and putting a wife threw college. I make 1k every two weeks, and work nearly 60 hours a week for the army. I think i know "the struggle" only difference is i was taught as a child that hard work and sacrifice gets you through. On the other hand people i grew up with are dirt bags sucking off the 99 weeks of unemployment smoking weed. I cant even go home for leave because these leaches find out that im

It sucks that you have such a negative view of the human race. Whatever experiences you've had that make you feel like that are awful. But, nobody I know chooses to be poor.

It costs between $20,000-$30,000 per semester to go to state college in California (depending on the CSU). And some of my smartest friends simply can not afford it. So when 4 years of school is going to cost almost $100,000 dollars (not counting the cost of living and books), and education is the way to rise up in class from lower to middle and you can't afford the education, you don't have a choice other than military. Which is very noble. But, it shouldn't be the only option. Especially for kids straight out of high school.

All the people I know who on on welfare struggle just to get by. None of them want more babies to "leach" off the system. No one wants to bring more babies in to a household where mom is just struggling to feed and cloth herself, much less a family of 5. And trust me. NOBODY likes living in the projects either. Being poor does not mean you're lazy... It usually means you were born into a disadvantage and society kept you at that disadvantage. It's not fair.

We shouldn't be blaming the poor who can't afford to pay taxes. If we want a country with a good standard of living, it shouldn't be any skin off our noses to help support a family in need.

We should be upset that the very rich aren't paying enough taxes.

im not blaming the poor who dont have a choice do to disabilities, poor education or mental problems. those folks in particular are the ones who should be receiving government help. its the waste and the fraud that most of us have issue with. poorly educated should be sent to school, the able bodied should at least do charity or community work of some sort.

School should be affordable. I think it should be free and required to at least get an AA degree. But, it seems like if you're born at a disadvantage, you don't have a choice. It's either military or get a hustle. Hustling being the easier occupation....

If you don't support abortion - which will happen no matter what you or I or anyone ever says - then why wouldn't you support contraceptives? You cannot have it both ways. If you don't want women getting pregnant and getting abortions, you need to make sure that they have access to preventative measures. Blocking ALL of this isn't going to stop pregnancy.

The only thing aside from abstinence (which you does not occur ANYWHERE, and especially does not occur in places where abstinence is all that is taught) that can stop pregnancy is contraception.

From a college student's perspective, free birth control would be a GREAT idea. Where I live, it's $60 for 3 months worth of pills without coverage. Your average 18 year horndog doesn't make enough money for those pills...
