Whoa, BTFU. Nobody is telling anybody how to grieve, but this is comparable to having your dead child stuffed. What if my way to "grieve" was to lock myself up with a dead body for years, would it be weird then? I don't think people are heartless and sick for finding that disturbing. If you don't that's fine, but trying to make others feel guilty for thinking odd behavior is, well... odd isn't going to pull any heartstrings.

There is as BIG difference between constructive criticism an MOCKERY. Do I find what Barbara Bush did to be strange, yes. But if that is how she dealt with the loss of her child and did not go mad doing it then that is what she needed to do. I will not back down from my opinion making fun of it is some sick mess.

Did not go mad? Pickling a fetus and whipping it out to your young children and calling it their sister does not sound like something that requires medication to you?

I have no problem with how she dealt with this on her personal level, but she stepped over a line when she damaged her children with her "dealing" with it.

One of the MOST important lessons I leaned early on being a parent was sometimes you make mistakes. The secret to being a good parent was to not keep making the same ones over and over again. I am pretty sure if you were to ask Mrs. Bush in HINDSIGHT was that the best thing to do, and she would most likely say no.

From most accounts of Barbara Bush, it is pretty certain that she would never admit to doing anything wrong.

Prior to the 2000 election, one of Dubya's daughters was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. I remembered hearing the report and that Dubya did not interrupt his fishing trip to go check on her. I thought more people noticed that if this is how he treats his children, the country would not be in good hands. There were a million things that made me not vote for him, but that one action was number one on my list.
