George W. Bush Traumatized By Barbara Bush’s Fetus Jar

“She said to her teenage kid, ‘Here’s the fetus,’ ” the shockingly candid Bush told NBC’s Matt Lauer, gesturing as if he were holding the jar during the TV chat, a DVD of which The Post exclusively obtained.
“There’s no question that affected me, a philosophy that we should respect life,” said the former president
But “the purpose of the story wasn’t to try show the evolution of a pro-life point of view,” Bush insisted to Lauer.
It was to scare children on Halloween?
“It was really to show how my mom and I developed a relationship.”
Oh Lord, did the two of them have sex? This almost excuses the whole torture thing.

To Whomever It May Concern:
If you should ever so much as overhear anyone ever claiming that abortion is murder and/or should be illegal
giving the reason because "it says so in the Bible" and/or "the Bible tells us so"

Some of you people REALLY are some sick heartless pricks. I mean it is a sad state of affairs when ayipis is one of the nicer respondents on a thread. I can say from the standpoint of a person who has lost a child through miscarriage you can not tell someone that they are not grieving the right way. Whether Barbara Bush buried her fetus in the backyard flushed it down the toilet or kept it in a jar for a time if that is how she dealt with it then bully for her.

Whoa, BTFU. Nobody is telling anybody how to grieve, but this is comparable to having your dead child stuffed. What if my way to "grieve" was to lock myself up with a dead body for years, would it be weird then? I don't think people are heartless and sick for finding that disturbing. If you don't that's fine, but trying to make others feel guilty for thinking odd behavior is, well... odd isn't going to pull any heartstrings.

There is as BIG difference between constructive criticism an MOCKERY. Do I find what Barbara Bush did to be strange, yes. But if that is how she dealt with the loss of her child and did not go mad doing it then that is what she needed to do. I will not back down from my opinion making fun of it is some sick mess.

Did not go mad? Pickling a fetus and whipping it out to your young children and calling it their sister does not sound like something that requires medication to you?
I have no problem with how she dealt with this on her personal level, but she stepped over a line when she damaged her children with her "dealing" with it.

One of the MOST important lessons I leaned early on being a parent was sometimes you make mistakes. The secret to being a good parent was to not keep making the same ones over and over again. I am pretty sure if you were to ask Mrs. Bush in HINDSIGHT was that the best thing to do, and she would most likely say no.

Trauma caused by a Miscarriage can be devastating. A young man was married to a great girl who miscarried. "They took my baby away in a jar" was her first spoken phrase when he entered the room to be with her.
Her emotional issues after that destroyed their marriage, she changed completely and blamed him for "not caring" which was completely wrong.
He tried for 3 years to cope with the changed person she had become until she finally pushed him away. Abortions and Miscarriages’ do more damage to a women’s psyche that people realize.
Fortunately they were very young and he went on to re-marry and have a family.
It took him 7 years to finally move on and find another girl.
George's mother had to be one messed up person to keep that jar. NO doubt he was traumatized! - 1 year ago

If I may throw in my two cents:
This is an example of why I strongly believe every person running to be the leader of ANY country should first have a psychological test to determine whether they're psychologically damaged, if not criminally insane, or not.
On a side note, I wonder what else is going on in Bush's head...

I became traumatized when I saw a pain-in-the-ass 2 year old screaming at the supermarket and his mother's futile attempts to control him... that was the moment I decided abortion should be legal.

This is even more strange when you consider Bush had a sister who died of Leukemia at the age of 3 and his parents donated her body to science and went on a golf trip the next day.
They Save a Fetus and are dead set against stem cell research.
But they have no problem with research being done on a child that lived to walk and talk, calling them Mommy & Daddy ?

Prior to the 2000 election, one of Dubya's daughters was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. I remembered hearing the report and that Dubya did not interrupt his fishing trip to go check on her. I thought more people noticed that if this is how he treats his children, the country would not be in good hands. There were a million things that made me not vote for him, but that one action was number one on my list.
