The issue is really not the cost, but wow!
Here is the defense from the online retailer:
"We're operating a business, it's no different than buying a leather jacket or a leather belt, or having bacon on your BLT. We're just adapting it to a different product."
Check out the full story at the link but would you even consider this as a gag gift for $4??

I hope this isn't real. I suppose it's a fair point that leather goods and animal skins are constantly used and sold, but the idea of having a taxidermied piglet in the house is so unappealing that I can't imagine this selling well...

You did leave out the part where the piglets had already died of natural causes.
"The website has introduced piggy banks, but the catch is that these piggy banks are made from real piglets which are 'taxidermied' (stuffed). If it's any
consolation, the site's 'taxidermied bank is made only from piglets that have died of natural causes.'"http://www.hindustantimes.com/Piggy-banks-made-from-real-pigs-Oink/Article1-6249...

Would you make a piggy bank out of a dead relative?

That argument can be applied to any product made using animals. Would you eat a dead relative? Would you use products tested on humans?

no I wouldn't eat a dead relative and I would use a product if that person consented to the testing.

I don't know about your personal choices, but then why do most people eat meat? A pig and a relative don't compare very well, in my opinion.
Then would you use a product that was tested on animals?

If you read the full article at the link it does explain about the piglets supposedly dying from "natural causes" and that they are procured from the taxidermist.

Oh, you're right. My bad, didn't see that the first time that I read it.
Regardless, it's not like the piglets are being killed with the intent of being made into a piggy bank.
