The 600-page report, which the Justice Department has tried to keep secret for four years, provides new evidence about more than two dozen of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last three decades.
Perhaps the report’s most damning disclosures come in assessing the Central Intelligence Agency’s involvement with Nazi émigrés. Scholars and previous government reports had acknowledged the C.I.A.’s use of Nazis for postwar intelligence purposes. But this report goes further in documenting the level of American complicity and deception in such operations.
The Justice Department report, describing what it calls “the government’s collaboration with persecutors,” says that O.S.I investigators learned that some of the Nazis “were indeed knowingly granted entry” to the United States, even though government officials were aware of their pasts. “America, which prided itself on being a safe haven for the persecuted, became — in some small measure — a safe haven for persecutors as well,” it said.
The Justice Department has resisted making the report public since 2006. Under the threat of a lawsuit, it turned over a heavily redacted version last month to a private research group, the National Security Archive, but even then many of the most legally and diplomatically sensitive portions were omitted. A complete version was obtained by The New York Times.
The Justice Department itself sometimes concealed what American officials knew about Nazis in this country, the report found.

I wonder if the complete version mentions the Bush family, their real name (Sherf), Operation Paperclip or the Vatican?

Do people agree with me that this proves what anyone with half a brain and a bit of research knows...that world war two, the holocaust and the splitting up of germany into two parts was all an immensely orchestrated plot to create misery, dissolution, anger, depression, death, torture and profit for the dirty hands that control the printing of money?

We didn't just give them a safe haven, we welcomed them with open arms.
We took Scientist, Soldiers, Even High Ranking officials and gave them jobs and a new life.
The Scientists we had working in our Rocket and Physics program, while the rest were contracted through the CIA to be agents working for us and given citizenship.
One famous example of this is Klaus Barbie, who was in charge of the Gestapo in Lyon (where he was known as the butcher of Lyon), we helped him escape prosecution in the Nuremburg trials, set him up as a CIA operative, where he served as an operative in Bolivia. He helped the tyrant dictator Luis Garcia Meza come to power through the "Cocaine Coup", and served as an officer in one of the dictators Hit squads, often torturing and executing rebels, even going so far as to help plan concentration camp style "detention centers", all while he was under the watch of the CIA.we helped this man escape justice, and not only let him run rampant and help devastate another country, but gave him the power to do so

They were all invited to join the Republican party, too, and are at the root of the GOP's policies and philosophy. On the other hand, the Bush family's name has always been Bush, it never was Sherf - you are merely propagating a ridiculous urban legend, rodstradamus. I have seen the websites where they pretend that the Bush family are really German Nazis, and that George Herbert Walker Bush is in fact a German, the nephew of a notorious Nazi, who was adopted by Prescott Bush, but that is just silly nonsense, especially as the ages and dates simply do not correspond.

as well as in russia too, as both of us recognized the strategic advantage to using what they knew.like how to propagandize to a degree that 50 years of a cold war could be pulled off.
the scary part isnt what we did with them, but the middle east.the soviets and us took the top tier guys.the scientists and propagandists.the middle east took all those middle guys.the officers radicalized enough to make rank, but not high enough to understand the full scope of what was going on.

Duh.
In the new "Topography Of Terror" museum in Berlin, it even has a whole part about something that is already well known... WHICH IS...
after the Nuremberg Trials, SEVERAL high ranking Nazi officials were recruited into positions in the US government. It's documented, it's known.
I stand by my assessment of Empire. Don't think that what happened in Nazi Germany can't happen again. As MTV put it... "the holocaust happened to people like us". I imagine it might be more subtle today... or at least less obvious genocide... but the fact remains, our government recruited some of the most evil men in history to work for them...
red flag, anyone?

That depends on who the quote is from and in what context on MTV. I'm not going to really put faith in a quote from one of the stars of "Jackass," but there are so many people who show up on MTV to say things ranging from having extreme political relevance to being completely unrelated or unimportant to anything anywhere.

Actually, I just saw a clip of the MTV ad in some documentary. I'm not citing it as a "credible source"... I'm quoting it... and the quote itself actually has little bearing on what I'm trying to say. Way to miss the point.
I'd venture to guess that I'm older than you... if not physically, then at least in spirit, because I don't generally attack people for something out of context and then make some smartass remark. Well, at least not to a stranger... :)
I actually hate MTV with a passion, mostly because they fuel the "idiocracy"... and generally breed the type of belligerent attitude that you're displaying here. There was perhaps a bit of irony in me citing MTV as an example, because for MTV to try to tell people they are enslaved is... strange, to say the least.
But I'm not getting into that now.
Maybe the lesson here is to pay more attention to the context of comments you flame people for ? I won't hold it against you... everybody does it sometimes. Maybe it was my fault for simply quoting MTV... which, in the future, I will try to refrain from doing.
But... EVEN I Have to admit that they have a point... and to ignore that... would be dumb, would it not?

interesting tidbit - - -
"After the development of DNA tests, the piece of scalp, which had been turned over by the Brazilian authorities, proved to be a critical piece of evidence in establishing that Dr. Mengele had fled to Brazil and had died there in about 1979 without ever entering the United States, the report said. The edited report deletes references to Dr. Mengele’s scalp on privacy grounds". - 1 year ago
