(In the first part of the interview, published on Wednesday, Ailes said that Obama's "socialism" was "too far left" for international allies, and that the president has "a different belief system than most Americans.")
Ailes spoke about NPR in the context of defending Juan Williams, who was fired from the public radio network after his comments about Muslims on Fox News. Ailes gave Williams a new, multi-million dollar contract in response to the firing. He told Kurtz that he had done so because he was "mad," and wanted to look after Williams and his family. But he reserved his greatest anger for NPR executives:
"They are, of course, Nazis. They have a kind of Nazi attitude. They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don't want any other point of view. They don't even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda. They are basically Air America with government funding to keep them alive."
Ailes also blasted Jon Stewart, who has made Fox News perhaps his biggest target on "The Daily Show."
"He hates conservative views," he said. "He hates conservative thoughts. He hates conservative verbiage. He hates conservatives...he's crazy. If it wasn't polarized, he couldn't make a living. He makes a living by attacking conservatives and stirring up a liberal base against it."

Rupert Murdock is a prick. I hate conservative views, thoughts, and verbiage because I hate lies, greed, racism, and religious intrusion in government. I hate the rich running this country for their own benefit and shitting on everyone else. Fuck that fat fuck Rupert Murdock and all of his brain-dead media consumers.

Riiiight... Jon Stewart is 'crazy' for wanting to bring sanity back to the people. Remember that whole rally he put together about a month ago? This sign seems extremely appropriate right now...

Ailes is the real Nazi. Him calling NPR Nazi's is worse than the pot calling the kettle black.
NPR is probably one of the few truly middle of the road journalism reporting there is. Definitely left of the position that FUX is in but certainly not to the RIGHT as calling something NAZI implies.
NAZI is about as right wing as you can get...and NPR is not RIGHT WING.

First of all, honestly who really cares what Roger Ailes thinks? Calling NPR nazis is a pretty outrageous statement. I think a more accurate description of NRP is "overly politically correct". It's not like Juan Williams went off on a anti-muslim rant... I don't agree with NPR but I get it. Unfortunately we live in dumbed down world (controlled by the media).

It's just a lot of noise, no coherent meaning behind it.
You'd have to be a complete tool to believe anything that man said, mostly because you could verify it for yourself in about ten seconds.
Turn on NPR, I promise the Fuhrer won't come blaring into your ears. In fact, you'll probably get bored because NPR goes out of its way to make sure it doesn't present any opinions.

The funniest thing about todays News Media is the fact they are Corporate owned and operated. With every election cycle the right wing of this country gets a little more bat shit crazy dragging the country even further to the right. Roger Ailes credibility has been destroyed years ago as a so called CEO of a right wing News organization. We have countless millions of citizens so brain washed they don't even know what middle of the road is! I have even stated in the past Ronald Reagan couldn't even get elected with his record. The fact that many of these same people who revere Reagan as some kind of hero, would be utterly disgusted with his actions in the past, haven't even done their homework on Reagan. The public airwaves are the peoples airwaves, and it is high time we start taking away these folks privilege of broadcasting over them. Where are the moderates? They should be mad as hell that these licenses for operating in the public interests are being so abused! And You Know I'm not talking about NPR.

Well, we all know what Roger Ailes is ..... He wants to totally control our airwaves and NPR is in his way. The douches, want to control everything. They eliminated ACORN based on 'fake' news. Now they are trying to tarnish NPR and eliminate them too. Shameful!
What kind of person is incapable of feeling shame? 'Fake' news is worse than no news! I think we should work to eliminate 'fake' news and the people who promote it.

I'ts funny he fail to mentioned how FOX FIXes a lot of their so call news. They edit their videos to meet their propaganda. Stewart is a saint in comparison to Beck and the rest of Fix News people. But of course he's not going to say anything about his people it's only $$$$$$$$$. It's so sad that there are so many people in this contry that still love to hate and Fox uses this to make $$$$$$ and devide the country. I always say united we succeed devided we fall..... NPR is just about the best news organization in America..They are in a league of their own, in comparison to other cable news organizations..Roger Ailes is the primary reason for the hate, lies, racism, and deceptive programing on Fox...NPR did a good thing by firing Jaun Williams, because he was creating a problem for their organization, by his appearance on Fox..Roger Ailes opinion of his competitors is about as valuable as a closed bank account..He is a vile, evil man, who is profiting from the ignorance of Americans...

Boy! You sure hit the nail on the head with this one. Roger Ailes and Fox News have done nothing but set Americans against each other. In the middle of the biggest economic crisis since the depression, we're spending our time trying to find the best way to &*$% each other. When the dust settles and everyone returns to their senses, we'll be living in an economic wasteland. Where will people like Ailes be? Sitting in their gated communities watching the carnage on TV and counting their money. Such a shame people can be so easily duped.

The chairman of a "news organization" that makes these kind of statements in the face of reality really needs to step down. It is unprofessional. Attacking Jon Stewart, a comedian, is the dumbest thing that any CEO could do. His only saving grace is that Fox is not really a news organization and anyone with active brain cells is aware of that. But as a CEO of any company to make these statements on the record, one has to wonder who he slept with to get that job.
Fox can't hold a candle to NPR's news reporting. In fact, Fox is faker than the fake news show that Ailes is bitching about.

even with a former GOP political strategist as its President/Chairman, the viewers of Fox actually think the network is 'Fair and Balanced'...imagine that. I often wonder what the talking heads at FOX would say if Howard Dean was hired by NBC and named the head of its News operation or James Carville was promoted from just a 'Contributor' for CNN and made President and/or Chairman of the network instead.

Just for the record, NPR doesn't have views. They actually, you know, report the news.
They go way out of their way to be objective, almost to the point of absurdity. It's funny listening to them try to give a report on genocide in the Sudan without voicing an opinion.

They fired Juan because he said something stupid which made them look like a bunch of bigoted fools. How does that make them hypocrites?
Like I just said, they go out of their way to not be opinionated. They're very receptive to (mostly idiotic) public notions that they are somehow biased.
So why would they keep a reporter on staff who pees his pants when he sees people dressed differently?
Does that reflect your views? To have a reporter who's afraid to fly with 30% of the planet and who also broadcasts to that 30%? Would you keep somebody like that around with the rest of your professionals?
I'd be interested to know what your "views" are with regards to how news is supposed to be done.11

He expressed a feeling that million of Americans have felt since 9/11. He was not advocating it, he was not condoning it, he was expressing that he could relate to it, he knew where it came from, he had experienced it. He expressed in a totally common sense point of view that even he has had these feelings, that he was not comfortable with those feelings, and that we as a people need to explore the reasonings behind those feelings. And he gets fired for it. Sorry, if you can't speak the plain truth, I don't want you getting any of my tax dollars.

-
JohnA:
Then millions of Americans are piss-their-pants, whiny, crybaby idiots and I really don't care that they feel the same way as him1.
Why we don't explore our feelings about how we're still secretly scared of black people or why we still feel uncomfortable seeing women in the workplace or whether we're still not sure whether we trust the Jews and the Mexicans.
If any of these things are common sense, then common sense has no value, at all.
Speaking your idiotic, childish fears to the world is NOT "the plain truth." And if you can't see that, I advise that you look up truth in the dictionary.
Speaking your mind is not always courageous or noble and it frequently isn't truthful. If someone vents their immature psychological baggage, they're not a hero. They've just projected their idiocy outwards and embarrassed the rest of the country.
As the old saying goes, better to keep your mouth shut and look like an idiot then to open it up and remove all doubt.
I, for one, don't want idiots on the air, and therefore agree with NPR's decision. Not that it matters since they can hire and fire as they please, just like anyone else.
If you find idiots appealing, by all means, watch his new show on FOX news and you both can blubber about your irrational fears all you want.
But I won't hold my breath wondering if anything productive comes out of it.
