Sarah Palin Slams Michelle Obama in Racially Charged Passage From New Book

Image

In passages leaked from her forthcoming book America by Heart, Sarah Palin -- the erstwhile quitter governor of Alaska, who now, by all indications, fancies herself as President of the United States -- has taken another cheap shot at First Lady Michelle Obama.

In a passage on perceptions of racial inequality in the United States, Palin slams President Barack Obama, who, she asserts, "seems to believe" that "America -- at least America as it currently exists -- is a fundamentally unjust and unequal country."
2010-11-19-americabyheart392x600.jpg
And then she goes after Michelle Obama:

Certainly his wife expressed this view when she said during the 2008 campaign that she had never felt proud of her country until her husband started winning elections. In retrospect, I guess this shouldn't surprise us, since both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's church listening to his rants against America and white people.

The passage -- coming on page 26 in a chapter entitled "We, the People" -- echoes remarks made by Palin on the eve of the midterm elections, at a rally in San Jose, California, at which point she mocked remarks made by Michelle Obama during the 2008 campaign: "You know, when I hear people say, or had said during the campaign that they've never been proud of America," Palin spat out. "Haven't they met anybody in uniform yet? I get tears in my eyes when I see that young man, that young woman, walking through the airport in uniform...you too... so proud to be American."

In fact, Michelle Obama's remarks were made (in Madison, Wisconsin, during the 2008 campaign) in a context of Americans being "unified around some basic common issues":

What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something--for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction, and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud.

Afterwards, the First Lady further clarified her remarks by noting that she was referencing the "record number" of young voters participating in the political process in the 2008 campaign:

For the first time in my lifetime, I am seeing people rolling up their sleeves in way that I haven't seen and really trying to figure this out, and that's the source of pride I was talking about.

The passages from Palin's latest book first appeared at Palingates, where several other pages from American by Heart have also been posted. Palin followed up her comments about Michelle Obama by throwing an elbow at U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, also focusing on racial overtones:

It also makes sense, then, that the man President Obama made his attorney general, Eric Holder, would call us a "nation of cowards" for failing to come to grips with what he described as the persistence of racism.

I think they both have class. At least thats the way they present themselves. But to say condoleeza rice doesnt have class all the while never meeting her is comical. That kind of comment just typifies what Big V is all about. You know, the clear- cut black and white if you dont see things the way I do then you are wrong and ill bend the truth and pull shit out of my ass kind of bullshit. Right, shes a republican so she exhibits no class or has no integrity because of the war in iraq? why?. man, I'm done even acknowledging this idiot.

ps... hey guys, vegetarians eat chicken, just ask Big V.

How would you know whether I have met her or not - you are highly presumptuous. Furthermore, you simply aren't equipped with the wherewithal for knowing what class actually is, seeing as you are totally devoid of it. And yes, one of the several categories of vegetarians actually eat chicken, fish, eggs and dairy, but in your remarkable ignorance, you choose to ignore that fact!

I'd say Whoopi is a damn sight more sexy and sensual than Condi, though. Furthermore, Whoopi has something that Condi is totally lacking in - personality, warmth, humanity, humour, taste and character.

not ignoring anything, vegetarians can eat animal products, but not the actual animal. anyone who does eat the actual animal is not a vegetarian. just go look up the definition. Presumptive maybe to assume youve never met Rice, but also probably dead fucking on as well. Right, and you are just bursting with class. bahaha. Not only do you suffer from personality disorders( which by the way you never clarified why you would denounce meat eating when you insinuate the fact you are a vegetarian and then claim you are not one), you also are self unaware. You cant even spell class. If you cant even figure out what a vegetarian is I gotta say Im a little worried for you, there a lot harder things in life than that.

good to see other people know what a vegetarian really is. You cant use the word vegetarian to describe someone who eats the flesh of an animal no matter if its once a day, once week or once a month. It is both connotatively and denotationally inaccurate to do so. There are other terms for these kinds of people but vegetarian is not one of them.

You are indeed ignoring facts. Furthermore, I neither insinuated that I am a vegetarian, nor have I claimed that I am not one - your reading comprehension is sorely lacking! As for personality disorders, you are in no position to judge, you don't have the qualifications but you certainly display the symptoms, and your diagnosis is worth every cent I paid for it, i.e. zilch, zero, nothing, nada.

I do on occasion commit typos, that doesn't mean I cannot spell - I have won spelling championships in several languages in several countries, in fact. Whereas your misuse of grammar and your frequent spelling mistakes places you in the position of the pot covered in a thick layer of soot calling the pristine, shiny and polished teapot black!

Compared to Aimi, Condi is a piano midget with two left hands. Note that Condi can only play anything on the piano if she has the sheet-music in front of her, whereas since early childhood, Aimi has never needed the sheet-music in order to play sublimely.

pesce-pollo vegetarians are Semi-vegetarians which was mentioned in my previous post. Im surprised you missed that though with your great reading comprehension, bahahaha! further proof you bend the truth just to support your twisted reality.Semi-vegetarians is a term used to describe diets that are not vegetarian, but include less meat than typical diets. The term has no precise or widely accepted definition, but is generally defined as the avoidance of red meat or generally following a vegetarian diet, but eating meat occasionally The term is sometimes used interchangeably with "flexitarianism".

      * Flexitarians avoid, but occasionally eat, meat. (In 2003, the American Dialect Society voted flexitarian as the year's most useful word and defined it as "a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat". Therefore, calling someone a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat is WRONG. I said there are other names for these people, but vegetarian is not one of them.

      * Pollotarians eat chicken and other poultry, but not red meat

      * Pescetarians eat fish and seafood, but not red meat or poultry.
these people still contribute to the environmental problems that eating meat causes as well.

both are types of semi-vegetarians, but not types of vegetarians. Once again you are wrong, and simply replying back "im not wrong" doesn't make YOU ANY LESS WRONG. you still haven't explained why you would attack meat eating if you are not a vegetarian yourself. And if that is the case then you are quite the unscrupulous person. also, you failed to give me a single country without the aforementioned guidelines.

First she's taking Michelle Obama out of context. Instead getting the entire quote for her book and commenting on that. Sarah Palin commented on what Ms. Obama said from a blurb she saw on the news or heard as a talking point during the election. Second it feeds directly into that "us" vs. "them" mentality thats polarizing the nation as we speak.

    • Sarah Palin is a political pundit no more no less. All this race baiting and divisive language makes her money. If she does run for president and thats a big IF(I'm sure she's seen the polling and knows she has no chance in a general or primary election). It will only be to push more books get herself her own radio or tv show. Sarah Palin may be stupid but she's not ignorant their is a big difference. Palin wants to be Rush Limbaugh not Ronald Reagan, and thats even more dangerous.

    • White people are so mistreated. Take slavery, for example. So many of us white people were forced to feed and transport thousands and thousands of slaves across the Atlantic ocean. And for years we've been forced to run the whole country! White men especially have had to carry these burdens. Thank you, Sarah Palin, for shedding light on our struggle!

No. But I have to admit that my disappointment and lack of trust in our elected officials is slanting my response to that question. But I do think that they will be in worse condition if she was running things. I love my country, but I hate the uninformed, prone to partisan bickering, sensationalism over facts approach it has been taking to politics lately.

    • First of all if this stupid bitch knew anything about the history of this country, she would know that the Rev. Wright was correct when he said that this country "was founded on genocide and built on the backs of slaves". When the good Rev. was giving a speech about the Govt. bringing AIDS to the black community, it was actually in reference to the U.S inflicting STDs into black soldiers at the end of WWII (snippets are the GOPs way of spreading mis-information). I wonder if she gets "tears in her eyes" thinking about that. NO! The stupid bitch denies it. Don't get me wrong this country is great but to be truely great we have to admit that we have made our fair share of mistakes along the way, to deny this is just plain arrogant. Anyone who likes this stupidass is a fool, SHE IS A FAKE PEOPLE! On the campaign trail she endorsed TARP and Cap and Trade. If you can't see through this, you need to straighten up that pointy white hood you have on your head so you can see through the eye holes. I would like to see "momma grizzly get fisted by daddy grizzly" in one of her upcoming episodes of her "fairy-tale reality show" that she is using as a campaign commercial. Which brings up a question I have. Is it some sort of campaign violation to have a show like this and then run for POTUS? You would think she should be forced to return any monies gained in this venture if she does run. Just because you ditched the Sothwest Airlines pin and name tag, removed the fancy scarf and talk to your supporters like your talking to your youngest about the virtues of not eating the caribou shit in the back yard doesn't make you presidential.

The US government deliberately (on several occasions) infected US soldiers and citizens with syphilis in order to test the cure and monitor results.

actually the program started before World War II -- in fact the "researchers" petitioned the federal government and got an exemption for males living in the zip codes for their "experiments" from the draft because penicillin came on the scene and it would have messed up their "study" if the men were treated for syphilis.

When the other counties in Alabama started noticing no men from certain zip codes in the state were being drafted it made the news and started the main stream media asking questions and that was when it was uncovered what was going on.

If she's on a channel, I don't watch that channel. If she has a book, I don't buy it.
If she's in the newspaper, I skip over it.

If we quit giving her attention, maybe the media will catch on, and stop giving her air time. ...and ultimately she'll disappear.

On the other hand...I like seeing Jon Stewart make her look dumb, and the media dumber for giving her air time.
So...disregard what I've said. Give her lots of air time. I want people to see exactly how stupid she is.

No worries...if she's voted president in 2012 she'll just quit after 2 years. lol

Sadly, these are the same themes you hear so often on Fox News from the likes of Beck, Hannity and others as they try to remind their white audience that Barack Obama is not only not one of 'Us' but has a viral dislike for both 'White People' and America.
