Fox News host warns that administration is preparing to exploit event to squelch resistance to airport security

In little noticed comments made during an appearance on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s show on Fox News, Glenn Beck warned that the Obama administration wouldn’t hesitate to exploit a terror attack targeting airliners to blame the event on people protesting naked body scanners and TSA groping in airports.

The Fox News host said that the government was deliberately provoking the American people to rise up so they could squelch the growing resistance with an iron fist, noting that Obama has failed to give a single speech addressing the TSA revolt even amidst the biggest holiday travel period of the year.
“Let’s get people to rise up and say no scanners….something happens, the President then has the ability to finally give a speech on airport security and say ‘I was trying to protect you and these people stood up against these scanners, and these people died because of it….you have to stop listening, I’ll protect you,” said Beck, implying that the Obama administration would exploit a terror attack to blame it on those protesting against scanners and TSA groping in airports.
Beck added that people in the Obama administration were probably having casual conversations surrounding the potential of a terror attack targeting airline travel along the lines of, “Gee, it wouldn’t be so bad, would it?”

Beck made similar comments earlier this month when he suggested that the Obama administration was preparing to stage an event that would be blamed on opponents of big government.
Discussing how leftists need violence to realize their political agenda, Beck featured a clip in which former Clintonite and Democrat operative Mark Penn said Obama needs an OKC bombing-style event to regain his popularity.
“Remember, President Clinton reconnected through Oklahoma, right?” said Penn on Chris Matthews’ Hardball show. “And the president right now seems removed. It wasn’t until that speech [after the bombing] that [Clinton] really clicked with the American public. Obama needs a similar” defining moment, according to Penn.
As we have documented, Penn is not the only prominent insider to invoke exploitation of terror as a means of reinvigorating the big government agenda. Back in July, former senior advisor to President Bill Clinton Robert Shapiro wrote in the Financial Times that only an OKC bombing or 9/11 style event could provide Obama with the opportunity to demonstrate that he is a strong leader.
After reading a letter written by Tides CEO and founder Drummond Pike that encouraged advertisers to boycott Fox News in a thinly veiled threat that implied Beck’s rhetoric is leading to another OKC bombing, Beck stated, “They are setting up an Oklahoma City, they are claiming that one is coming and they’re already marked the one who caused it,” referring to himself.
The resistance to TSA groping and naked body scanners is only accelerating as Thanksgiving nears and a national opt-out protest is less than 48 hours away.
More and more cases of TSA abuse continue to pour in on a daily basis as Transportation Security Administration head John Pistole indicates for the first time that the agency may be starting to cave to the backlash. Pistole told CNN’s State of the Union yesterday that screening procedures would not be altered but in a subsequent statement acknowledged that the TSA needed to make airport security “as minimally invasive as possible,” in response to the building nationwide outrage and vows by numerous airport directors to ditch the TSA altogether in favor of private security.

    • This is just more crazy right wing, fear propaganda. It's always the same old shit. All of their shit falls into 3 different subgroups. 1) Slippery slope theory. Example: When the first lady got on a crusade about kids not eating properly and not having access to good & healthy food and trying to change peoples attitudes about the way we eat. The wing nut response was..."Now they are trying to tell us what to feed our kids, what is next? Allowing pot smokin', gay Mexicans to come across the border to turn Junior into a ragin' homo or kill your granny.
      2.)Conspiracy theory. Example: One word, Americorps. The wing-nut response was..."They are trying to indoctinate our kids and turn them in to a brigade of "Brown Shirts" to overthrow our capitalist, God fearing nation."
      3.)Persecution theory. Example: Health care. The wing-nut response.... "This is a form of reperations for minorities because the President wants to punish white people for slavery". Remember when Glen said "I believe this man has a deep seeded hatred for white people". Catch my drift? They have a habit of taking something that in the long run is actually a good idea and turning it into something that is going to ruin your Christian, American values that they know is so far from the truth, it hurts. Anything to scare the uneducated people who don't read books or know anything about American history. Why do they always talk down about the intellectual elite? Cause they don't want anyone to question these theories that they spread as facts. If FOX, Rush, Glen, Bill-O, Sean or Michelle Malkin say it, it has to be true, right? An ideal America would be a world where all of thes people plus a few others were to have their eyes taped open (ala Clockwork Orange) and be forced to read Howard Zinn's book "A People's History Of The United States Of America". These douchebags point a lot of fingers toward the left so that the dumb and uneducated can't figure out how they are really fuckin' over the people that support them. Do you really think the right wing fear machine has anything to offer Goober the who lives in a trailer in a backwater town in middle Alabama with his 2nd cousin wife and 6 kids, 4 cars on blocks in the front lawn, rebel flag hanging from the front deck, 6 dogs, 2 chickens, food stamp receiving, Ted Nugent listening Tea Partier? Post 9-11 terror has fueled more new government contracts than anything since Pearl Harbor, although it sure as hell may be eclipsed by the new health care reform initiatives. God, I choke on the the words -health- care- and reform. Your human to human interactions with your doctor are quickly being replaced by human to doctor's iPad interactions, and hell, at this rate, we will probably just walk through the naked body scanner to get in the doctor's office, punch our symptoms into an ATM like machine, slide the debit card through, and have our meds dispensed by the health-care-reform doctor robot end of the same machine.

    • So when Bush amped up airport security, we said it was necessary in these trying times. When the republican majority with the full support of the republican president, and admittedly substantial backing from the dems, passed a law that essentially stripped every American of every basic right they ever thought they ever could have, we said "that’s the world we live in" and moved on. Now the Tsa wants more thorough searches and we finally get pissed. We should have been pissed in 2001 when a terrorist attack was used as an excuse to pave the way to absolute government. If you think the Patriot act will not be used against Americans you are a fool. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow but the precedent has been set, the USA values safety above liberty, the day will come when all of these "security measures" will haunt our nation and the world as a whole. The bastions of freedom are falling to fear and the terrorists are winning we are simply too blinded by fear to see the truth.

YOU must evaluate them, YOU must avoid allowing others to dictate to you what sources to trust.       Since you didn't appreciate my attempt at humor, how about this approach, I'm of the opinion that people who hold the kind of paranoid ideas that "the government is coming to get me" ideas need to seek some professional help. To put it in perspective, in the big picture as an individuals you and I are smaller than a single cell microbe in the Pacific ocean...and unless you threaten the life of a member of the governing body , fail to pay your taxes, make bomb threats, or some other threats to life, as far as the government is concerned you are invisible...and to elevate yourself to some degree of importance that would move the federal government to construct secret prisons, elite forces to seek you out etc is at the very least a case of delusions of grandeur..or as Shakespeare said so eloquently:
      "A tale, told by a fool, full of sound and fury....signifying nothing".
