The Mercury News of San Jose, California, revealed that CIA agents sold hundreds of tons of cocaine in the U.S. during the years of the conflict in Nicaragua, in order to obtain funds for the Contras (US-created paramilitaries to prevent the Sandinista revolution). The report explains that Contra leaders met with a CIA agent to plan the operation. The drugs were transported in military aircraft to airports in Texas.

The drugs were first distributed in the black ghettos of Los Angeles, California, from there it spread throughout the country. In the early 80's, crack and cocaine ravaged neighborhoods in the U.S., destroying the brains and the will to fight and protest. The CIA then was called the cocaine import agency. The chemical precursors are indispensable ingredients for the manufacture of cocaine, and not produced in Colombia, but without an embrago there is no plan "Germany" or "Swiss plan" by bombing the multinationals that manufacture the chemicals ... Why is that?

    • This bullshit has been hawked for decades. The CIA doesn't need to sell drugs they have all of our tax money they could possibly spend without having to justify any of it. Telling Americans that there is some kind of a review of funds used by them are just being made to feel better. of As ridiculous as the claim that crack cocaine was invented by the CIA to destroy the black man.

    • Gotta have money for black ops that they don't want to fund through congress or have any oversight. The CIA has been dealing drugs for decades, its no secret.

      Because the Taliban had banned opium production and would shoot people who didnt get with the program. After the us invasion they begain to grow poppies again to fund their war effort.

    • the best way to deal with drugs is to destroy the crops at source..then there cant be any illegal distribution.
      The sad facts are though that these drugs are allowed to create a growing currency that is to valuable to the people who are pulling the strings in the culture of the 20th century...

      Wrong, the CIA and drug enforcement have been doing that for years and with no progress.all they do is arrest inocent farmers that are poor and have nothing else that they can grow that would be profitable in any meaningful way. the best way is to stop the demand all together. if no one does it why would anybody try to get it in our country.

      yes you are right of course..about the farmers losing out but then they have been earning from these crops for years..
      If you take away the source and stop producing these drugs for use in the first place,then you can hopefully reduce the demand and substitute these drugs for a sythethic type to gradually re-educate the addicts systems back to normal...
      The human complex can replicate any drug naturally derived and so after a while the amount of drugs you intake have minımal value to the system any way..
      No the cash crop has always been allowed to grow..that is why it is time to take active resposibility once and for all...farmers can always grow other less horrendous crops.

      the best way to end drug production is to end unfair subsidies for farmers when the same product could be grown in those countries for a fraction of the cost. When legitimate crops have a market then they will grow them. The farmers arent being paid anymore for growing poppies or coca than they would for other crops.
