If London Was Occupied [video]

richjm
In this well-made, through-provoking short film that seeks to highlight the plight of Palestinians in the West Bank, London is under occupation and one man trying to take a woman to hospital faces checkpoints, delays and uncooperative soldiers.

The Left hawks totalitarian ideologies, falls in love with dictators and, in its offensive against Israel, ignores the destruction of fundamental rights. It hates rabbis, but falls in love with imams; shouts against the Israeli Defence Forces, but applauds Hamas’s terrorists; weeps for the Palestinian victims, but scorns the Jewish victims, and when it is touched by Palestinian children, it does it only if it can blame the Israelis.

It will never denounce the culture of hatred, or its preparation for murder. A year ago, at the AIPAC conference in Washington I asked the following questions:

Why don’t we see demonstrations in Europe against the Islamic dictatorships?

Why are there no demonstrations against the enslavement of millions of Muslim women?

Why are there no declarations against the use of bomb-carrying children in the conflicts in which Islam is involved?

Why is the left only obsessed with fighting against two of the most solid democracies of the planet, those which have suffered the bloodiest terrorist attacks, the United States and Israel?

Because the left no longer has any ideas, only slogans. It no longer defends rights, but prejudices. And the greatest prejudice of all is the one aimed against Israel. I accuse, then, in a formal manner that the main responsibility for the new anti-Semitic hatred disguised as anti-Zionism, comes from those who should have been there to defend freedom, solidarity and progress. Far from it, they defend despots, forget their victims and remain silent before medieval ideologies which aim at the destruction of free societies. The treason of the left is an authentic treason against modernity.

In reality the Ottoman Province of Palestine was divided three times between the end of WWI and 1948. In 1923, Churchill gave the land east of the Jordan River to Emir Abdullah of the Hashemite Tribe, to reward him for the Hashemite support of Britain during WWI. In 1948, Britain had lost control of what was left of "Palestine" and threw the question to the UN. The UN voted to divide the remainder of Palestine AGAIN; the result was two states - one Jewish and one Arab. (The Arabs refused to accept this division, and Abdullah saw opportunities to enlarge his own state.)

After the Israeli War of Independence, Abdullah, who had then declared himself King of Jordan, welcomed displaced Palestinians to solidify his claim to the West Bank as part of Jordan and to retain control of Jerusalem.

At a rally in Gaza during a meeting of the Arab Summit, a Palestinian girl declared on official Palestinian Authority television that other countries should provide weapons to Palestinians so that young boys and girls like herself can kill all the Jews.

      Palestinian girl:
"We ask that the countries stand by our side. We want them to help us. We only want them to give us weapons. We on our own, young boys and girls, will kill them (the Jews) on our own, murder them, shoot all of them. Just give us weapons. The boys and the girls themselves will kill them all (the Jews). We won't leave a single Jew. We won't leave a single Jew here."

it is amazing how you can still be anti-israel despite that being the side in this cultural divide that accepts free speech, not the palestinian side.i mean does that not show the palestinians are not fighting for thier liberty, as they are the side that deny it?
does the fact that this video is israeli made, not show the reasonable nature of that side in comparison to hamas's state run,jew hating, strictly anti-zionost propaganda?

how do you still advocate for the oppressor?

    • Of course the moron who posted this has absolutely no clue what life is like for the fakestinians in Judea and Samaria, aka the 'west bank'. He has never been there and does not know the reality on the ground. He is living in a demented world of hateful bigotry based on information he has received from other malevolent antisemites working for the liberal/left lamestream media. I've been to Bethlehem, Hebron and other parts of the 'west bank' and the people there are enjoying their i-pods, i-phones, nice clothes from chains like Mango and Gap in shiny shopping malls, driving Mercs and BMWs and living in comfortable housing, many in villas. the atmosphere is buoyant, the economy is thriving. The checkpoints are there to stop the murderous fakestinians slaughtering innocent women and children on buses and in pizza parlours. 1500 innocents were massacred during the 2nd intifada and the security wall and checkpoints have put a stop to that. The checkpoints affect everybody, including the Jews who are resident there. If you don't like them, then that means you want Jews to be killed.

This post is total bullshit from a twisted genocidal mind. Voted down.

    • the thing is thought, this isnt ficticious.its what happened to belfast, and the seperation walls still exist.take away the terrorism, and viola, no check points, no walls, no impediments to the collective well being of civilians.
      its just that simple.

dont make the civilian populations pawns in war, and you dont have such concerns.anytime the plo cares to create a military out of its millions of citizens, the idf would be more than happy to meet them on the battlefield.until then, by using civilian populations as the place from wich attacks are launched, means civilian populations are viewed as a threat, and the survival of the many trump that of the few.

If you have no peace lines in Belfast the place would be a bomb crater within a day. I come from Belfast, I live just 200 meters from a peace line and it is shite like but it has to be there our my house will be on fire. That video up there just reminds me of Belfast back in the day when the British soldiers were about and they were a pile of cunts to be honest, that's something Belfast people mostly have in common with Palestine specially on the catholic side in which alot of Belfast people support Palestine.

as opposed to the funhouse of joy that the borders of the bank, and gaza are?even with the walls in place, sderot is still getting bombed, and actualy in many ways more so than before(distance/frequency).not potentialy if no barrier existed, but actively despite the barrier.

regardless of wich side one supports, the value of protecting life is a recognized basis for action. the israel government has the task of protecting the lives of israelis, hamas has that same responsability to palestinians.that is just the unavoidable defacto state of affairs, regardless of what governments they are.united states/canadian, indian/pakistani, israeli/palestinian.
cant fault israel for doing what it needs to, anymore than one could blame belfast for doing the same in the environment of violence that threatened life.

      it is what is done.
