In response to the recent economic downturn, the US government has lent a helping hand to numerous homegrown industries. But most people laughed off Hustler founder Larry Flint’s bid for a porn industry bailout. While such a bailout would’ve proven politically disastrous, the industry is indeed experiencing desperate times. DVD sales have dropped 30% and pay-per-view sales are down 50% since the mid-2000s.

    • Its like WEED - - - LEGALIZE IT,....TAX IT,....REGULATE IT.

      ( and I would go one step further -SUBSIDIZE, QUALITY CONTROL,..AND UNTAP ITS FULL POTENTIAL )

      note -One of the main motivations for hierarchic bullshit in society, is male jockeying to simply "get-sum" that isn't LAME; lets BUY OFF that arbitrary source of social friction once and for all !

    • I have always thought that "PORN" should be run under a more socialist model;
      "nationalize" porn,...tax everyone to subsidize it,...and encourage enlistment in the porn corps. For it. Have porn tax kickbacks for those of low income.

      note - - - Those who "look good" and CAN get reasonable sex on their own without nanny state help,..
      ( pimp daddy help ?) WILL "game the system",....but we do that sort of thing, in effect,... for social security recipients NOW. I can live with that.

      Its called "encouraging an industry you want expanded, through tax subsidies",....and I WANT hot babes that put out,.....AND I DON'T WANT TO PAY TOO MUCH FOR THAT MUFFLER !

      Sex for the "common" [ poor and homely ] man ! Huzzah !
