According to the article, the mayor of London offered FIFA officials free accommodation in London's 'exclusive' Dorchester hotel for the Olympics in 2012.

The BBC says Boris travelled to Zurich to lobby for votes, which England gained 2 out of a potential 22, though before voting there are reports England were 'assured' for five votes.

"Free hotel rooms for VIP guests are handed out by Locog, the Olympic organising committee. Mr Johnson is understood to have discussed the issue with Locog chairman Sebastian Coe. The mayor has not commented on the decision to cancel the free stay. "-BBC

Before the FIFA voted on the world cup hosts there were documentaries in the UK accusing corruption and bribery as a part of the selection process.
