Uproar over "inhuman" rituals against Dalits in Karnataka

In a significant development, Dalits in Karnataka have protested against an inhuman ritual 'urulu seve' that has been parctised over 400 years at Kukke Subramanya Temple in the name of tradition.It is said that Kukke Subramanya Temple is one of the religious destinations in Karnataka where Dalits follow the humiliating practice of rolling over banana leaves on which upper caste Brahmins have eaten their food.
