USO helps families reunite: meet the Rathburns

The Rathburn family is as wholesome and American as apple pie! David and Ariana were separated a week after their first child was born; David was going to Iraq in December 2009, and in less than 3 weeks he will be home again. Though a year may not seem like a long time, for a newly married couple with a baby, it can be an eternity.
Young wives like Ariana keep in touch with their husbands through their laptops. Today's advancements in IT make it possible to not only talk, but see each other, and bring baby into the conversation as well. When you watch the video here, you will notice how difficult it is for Ariana to leave her baby at the USO Center while she attends a reunification conference. When she gets there, she is one of many wives who are also preparing to welcome back a loved one.
