Bradley Manning in 'isolation'? US defends treatment of WikiLeaks suspect

The renewed scrutiny into the treatment of Private First Class Bradley Manning, including whether he is being held in solitary confinement, comes on the heels of recent reports like one that ran Wednesday in Salon.com, charging that “Manning has been subjected for many months without pause to inhuman, personality-erasing, soul-destroying, insanity-inducing conditions of isolation.”
Even as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was released from jail Thursday to an estate outside of London to await an extradition hearing, critics argue that Manning’s confinement has been largely ignored

It sounds here more like people being in love with the idea of executing someone by firing squad for treason than it does citizens outraged by the secrecy and lies of our (U.S.) government.

I did the same job as Manning in the army back in the 80;s. If I had realeased the same info that he did I would have probably been shot two weeks later. This person and the Wikkileaks founder put our own population at risk as well as embarassed the USA.This is high treason and has put to many of our people at risk.

+ for you. A top security clearance means that you keep your mouth shut or suffer the wrath of the military or Gov't. My brother was a submariner for 17 years and I know almost nothing about his career, as he was sworn to secrecy, and still keeps his oath over 10 years later.

Not one person has been harmed from this. He exposed evidence of a crime.

He's lucky if they don't kill him. You don't commit treason. If you don't like what the government is doing, don't join the military. If you think you are going to help the radicals by stealing hundreds of thousands of classified documents, you knew what you were doing, and should face the music. Which should be death.
He is a piece of shit.

Adding this to the "Cthulhu" group, may,....or may not, be appropriate,....nevertheless it was accidental on my part. Perhaps something of a
"fhtagn"-slip of sorts. - 1 year ago

WTF ?
"It also addresses the charge that Manning is being held in cruel conditions – specifically, that he is not allowed to exercise in his room. “No detainees are allowed to exercise in their cell. As a matter of safety, all exercise must be supervised.”
Uhm,....why ?
