His harshly worded comments -- prepared for delivery on the floor of the Senate as his final statement -- eviscerate the Supreme Court for its recent campaign finance decision. Specter says the Court ignored a massive congressional record in reversing decades old campaign finance legislation.
"The Court has been eating Congress’s lunch," Specter says, "by invalidating legislation with judicial activism after nominees commit under oath in confirmation proceedings to respect Congressional fact finding and precedents."

Any rep in senate who is or was an attorney has no place there, never have never will. People were stupid to allow the judiciary to control peoples business. But we do live in the land of outrageous tort and contracts. People often forget that these people have 300 dollar an hour brains and they will make sure they beat you around the head with it, with their sweet talking tongue lashings. I agree totally Specter is just on a sour grapes mission at the moment no better than the rest of those corporate lackeys, but he doesn't like what he see's on the horizon for all of us.

I liked Arlen Specter from the very first time I heard him speak back in the 80's. He made me feel that a person could be a Republican and a member of the human race too. Goodbye, Senator Specter.

Since SCOTUS is a political body now...they should not be appointed but elected...by popular vote.

I thought there were only five votes needed to elect a president. After all in his memoirs did he not state that his entourage of legal corporate friends of American justice can make all things legal for him and his actions, and of course any subsequent el supremo appointed talking head. Seems that by the time sheeple have figured things out, as was stated by Rousseau. You can deflect a flying hatchet only while in flight not when it has met it's mark. I think the mark was met quite some time ago and has severed peoples frontal lobes from the primal creating most of us as predictable consuming automatons.
