Mainstream Journalists sit on hands ~ As US Government Leaders & Corporate entities Threaten 1st Amendment & Freedom of Press & Violence in an Attempt to Cover Up Wrong Doing.

gerardange
Julian Assange Live Satellite UK Interview:

(1) Discussing Journalism in the USA is currently at risk as Government and Corporate powers in an attempt to cover-up wrong doings threaten the First Amendment and Freedom of the Press.

(2) Senior Political leaders demand and threaten murder and violence. Sending a message and example to their children and to the world... That fascist terrorist threats circumventing all law and due process - to cover-up wrong doings are all okay?

(3) Abuse of Private Manning... Locked in solitary confinement conditions 24X7 in a Military Brig as he continues to await trial for now over six months and counting. But in fact... is a designed as captive abuse in a clear attempt to attack Private Manning and break him psychologically before any trial takes place. > What we are witnessing here is the normal business as usual rule in the US treatment of any enemy combatants.

    • So unclecharlie I guess it's back to business as usual & doing nothing?

      unclecharlie, Doing nothing is stupid!

      Doing something is courageous...

Maybe it's time that you wake-up unclecharlie?

Because... WIKILEAKS IS NOTHING MORE THAN A WAKE-UP CALL !!!

Wikileaks is a global "Virus Protection Software" that has shown all of us that our systems are infected.... That there is a trojan virus running in the background - doing things against the interests of the People of the Country that the government is mandated to represent.

This is a real wake-up call for people everywhere.... that Corporations have taken over all our government systems... Stealing our all our freedoms.

      LEARN FROM HISTORY.....

Mussolini quote: " Fascism should be appropriately called Corporatism because of a merger of State & Corporate Power."

That is what is going on here... This is a wake-up call... and

Wikileaks is the Alarm Bell !!!

      Truth is courageous...

      ~

Hey unclecharlie.... Ever thought about looking in the mirror...? Because.... You're a little creepy man.!

It is real easy to sit around in your underwear on your big fat ass and fling negative jabs from your computer all day and night... Yah that the way to do it! Just make rude comments about everything! Regardless if you have zero knowledge or all the facts on any subject you comment on... Blah... blah... blah...

Ask Yourself.... What decent thing have you "ever done" with your life that even comes close on a global level to try and stop corruption???? To try and make the world a better place? Which Julian Assange has done. You can try and insult him saying this and that and anything else that comes out of your mouth.. ! But it still gets down to... What have you ever done...? WHAT... HAVE... YOU... EVER... DONE... ON... A...GLOBAL LEVEL?

Maybe you should do more listening and less talking... you might learn something.

Hey unclecharlie... Live by example... not by JUST EMPTY BS.

    • ALL MEDIA IS BIASED.

The people just need media to be biased in their favor to balance it out between them and the corporations. Right now, they get too many benefits.

    • Its high time we do something about our governments abuse of power. Every day they do more of what is good for themselves and bad for the people up on capital hill. If they will not listen to our voice then perhaps it is time to consider our options.

    • I say its a trifecta...capitalism, religion, and government. They are one big menage au trois. Wikileaks and journalist organizations like it are the only balancing power that the people have. Without the ability for whistleblowers to safely provide information about government corruption and complicity of office with corrupted contracts, bribery, extortion, etc. that is when fascism rears its head. In a frenzy of nationalism and religious fervor, people are manipulated while they are being exploited by the capitalists. The governments keep you engaged as a patriot, while religion keeps you faithful as a lamb.

Wikileaks is doing what mainstream media should be doing. But ever since mainstream media became a for profit and entertainment ratings controlled public trust...it became corrupted. There needs to be a national shield law that reporters should be able to use anonymous sources, especially when those sources lives could be endangered. We need strong whistleblower protections and even better....pay bonuses to those who "snitch" on their superiors. That will teach the corrupted politicians from flaunting their corruption in the face of their constituency.

    • It's hard for anyone to stand up to a behemoth that can destroy you with impunity. The government controls corporate media because over 90% of the media is corporate media. Non corporate media just doesn't have enough influence or pose a significant enough threat to bother with. Corporate media knows how to play the game and is of course complicit but if a smaller media outlet gained a significant influence or caused too much trouble the government would quickly try to put them in line... just like Julian Assange and wiki leaks.

"The government controls corporate media because over 90% of the media is corporate media."

You are in effect saying the government controls corporate media because it is corporate media; both of which, mine and yours are nonsensical statements. Does the government control Fox Newz? No, Rupey Murdoch does. CNN? No, Ted Turner did. While agreeing with the rest of what you say, saying the government controls corporate media is ludicrous. Saying the government controls corporate anything is equally ludicrous. Our government is under the thumb of corporate America.

    • Less rhetoric spoken than perhaps the last ten presidents, combined. I wish Assange was a US citizen, the legal system just, and democracy true in America--only then would I believe my wish of Assange _running_ for president could come true. Note that I emphasize running--as I would still prefer to learn more about him before hypothetically committing.

      LOL - Assange for President.

The man does far too much good in his current endeavors. He's doing what he loves, why take him from that.
The government is trying very hard to put him in jail for publishing "secrets".
I fear that when they do convict him, it will be the death of the 1st Amendment.
...and I do mean the death of it.
