Western Michigan Synagogue Temple Emanuel Making a Difference!
After taking a summer course at the New York Film Academy, Austin returned to Grand Rapids, Michigan and picked up his video camera. At sixteen Austin volunteers and participates in many different organized activities- spending his time helping the western Michigan community. Austin has merged his love for helping others with the craft of film-making. In his short documentary “Food Bank” Austin showcases Congregation Temple Emanuel (http://www.templeemanuelgr.org/index.php/about-us) and its community outreach through food donations (only a portion of its members volunteer effort). Members of the synagogue come back each week- whether they’ve collected donations or bought supplies to give away; they are holding down the fort so that nearly 50 families benefit from the food bank (many would have much less without its help).
