Canadian Embassy emails reveal Canadian, US lobbying on tar sands-derived oil

Recently published emails written by Canadian Embassy and government employees show that the Embassy directly lobbied the Bush Administration and Congress over a law that could have restricted exports of tar sands-derived crude oil. The emails also show that the Bush Administration asked Canada to convince oil companies to lobby Congress on the Bush Administration's behalf.
