Stewart Mocks Fox News For Criticizing Arizona Shooting Memorial (VIDEO)

The world doesn't rest on the shoulders of Jon Stewart, but I agree and I think we can give him some credit for the 9/11 first responders' bill getting passed. Time and time again he demonstrates how insightful he is, and you can tell how much he cares while at the same time being tremendously funny.

of course the world doesnt rest on stewarts shoulders, but an element of our collective conscience does.an element that cannot be quantified as it exists strictly in an existential realm.to what degree he effects it will never be known for better or worse, but im damn glad he offers this.this element,that previous to him, had only existed sporaticaly through out history for short periods.he now gives it a regular home in our national debate.

not to argue your point, wich i agree with completely, but how can you negotiate advocating for shutting down fox while still upholding a love for free speech?
just asking cuz i struggle with this myself.they should be shut down as a toxic criminal enterprise in regards to our social discourse, but how does this work in a way that doesnt ask us to give up civil liberties?

Easy, somethings need to be cut off. Free speech should be given to anyone that understands what it is and how to use it... when it comes to corporations.

But if a corporation is going to abuse it, than it should be shut down. It's that simple.

Again, when it comes to people, free speech should be given to everyone but it only goes so far. This country allows free speech in certain areas and if you abuse it, you get arrested. That's the way it should be with corporations.

creating limitations on free speech is setting a precident.even if we say make it against the law to say "i want to shoot the president" doesnt that fit right into the path to hell is paved in good intentions.that law would be the first stepping stone on a road that could lead to it is against the law to say anything negative.granted that is a far extrapilation of the concept, but why even travel down such a path not knowing where to appropriately draw the line.

dont use the corperation angle, cuz apparently we have decided corperations are the same thing as an individual person.i will never understand how this works, but that is unfotunately the case.
