Abortion patient denied life saving drug by Walgreens pharmacist

Planned Parenthood reports that a pro-life pharmacist at a Walgreens in Nampa, Idaho, denied a patient life saving drugs after determining the patient had recently undergone an abortion. In light of these allegations, Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest has filed a letter of complaint with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy regarding the actions of the pharmacist.

Planned Parenthood contends the Walgreens pharmacist improperly used the state's 2010 conscience law. Last year, an Idaho state law was passed giving health care providers the right to refuse service if it was against their conscience.

The law allows health care providers the right to refuse abortion drugs and emergency contraceptives if they feel it's unethical. Many find the law itself to be unethical, and if a pharmacist is unable to serve patients because of religious beliefs they should find another line of work.
