    • At the time of the poll Fox dropped 4% points...and is STILL in second place.

But despite that poll result, look at the Nielson ratings...Fox still does better than CNN and MSNBC combined.

Fox is at the top of the ratings.
CNN lost Beck to Fox. He's doing great.
CNN got rid of Lou Dobbs, and he's now sitting over at Fox as an analyst...and biding his time for a possible political career. Dobbs for president? VP?
Fox has Sara Palin as political analyst--big draw for viewers.
Fox snatched up Juan Williams when PBS was so stupid they let him go.

I would not be surprised if Fox picked up Olbermann and teamed him up with a conservative and created ONE HELL of a lively debate. And then even more libs like you, my friend, will turn to fox to watch the fireworks.

Fox rules. And thank God. I remember the days before there was an alternative to the monopolistic liberal propaganda machine. All it took was ONE conservative station to knock down that pathetic house of cards.

    • Didn't Obama say something a while ago like "truth is a funny thing. It sticks around"? He was speaking about his birth certificate, but that can be applied to just about anything. I guess the folks at fox are starting to realize that now.

    • AHH, now I know why the GOP wants to cut PBS (Fed Art) funding. One lousy poll put PBS above (in credibility, see Huffington Post) Fox fake news.
Don't get too happy about this. Remember the USA is the land of fear and ignorance. Any new war news will attract the ignorant and put Fox Fake News back up again.

talking about ignorance. you know there is no connection between poll ratings and the GOP talking about defunding that incredibly biased PBS.

Talk about false information, misleading, you are doing it right now, but as usual, when liberals lie and mislead, they convince themselves that it's ok to do it and nothing slows them down

      1. I meant that the poll was about Fox News credibility and it was conducted in reality and not an opinion. More people believe that FoxNews is not honest. Link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/20/fox-news-most-distrusted-_n_811471.html
Quote from HuffingtonPost, "Fox News is the most distrusted name in news, while PBS is the most trusted, according to a poll by Public Policy Polling". They are still the most popular news but more people are not believing their credibility (which should logically lead to lower overall ratings, but not necessarily).

      2. Fox bias against PBS? The fact is that Fox does not like PBS because PBS is perceived as liberal but they are actually middle leaning left. I was also making a joke and this is all our opinions and by claiming that I lie is very hypocritical of you.

      3. curtisreed, why are you such a toadie (ignorantly pro-rightwing) for the top 2%? It is the top 2% who decided to commit economic treason against the average citizen in the USA by increasing unemployment and sending good jobs overseas. http://current.com/news/92932742_the-fed-bernanke-says-savers-hate-america-but-t...

This is the link to file a complaint with the FCC.
Fox News, in my opinion, is responsible for airing profanity, obscenity, and incendiary language.

Not only that, but they've been caught multiple times in exaggerating facts, and manufacturing news information.

If you see something on Fox news you find offensive, misleading, or to be false; write down the show, the time, the channel. Then REPORT it!

      January 19, 2011 numbers:
FNC leads all others in total day, primetime and morning programs.
5PM- Beck smokes them by @ 2.5 over "tingle up my leg" Chris Matthews and Matthews it the number 2 slot behind Fox
6PM-Bret Baier is 3x The Ed Show (gee no surprise there) who is also #2 behind Fox
7pm- Shepherd Smith is 3x higher than #2 Matthews, slightly better than Beck at 5pm
      8pm- O'Reilly is @ 3x the #2 Olberman
9pm-Hannity is @ 2x the second place Maddow
10pm- Greta is @ twice the second place finisher.

I used MSNBC to compare because that network was number two, Fox is number one. The others share is so small it's almost a hobby to them.
Perhaps if MSNBC would get rid of the hate merchants and, certainly in the case of Schultz and Olberman, the marginally intelligent they may see their ratings go up. I have watched all the MSNBC shows listed above. It's like listening to fingernails being pulled across a blackboard.

I'll continue to watch mostly Fox. They are more objective and continue to practice "civility", something MSNBC seems to be congenitally opposed to.

Paratus - do you know why so many people watch NASCAR? -I'll give you a clue, it's not to see cars go around in a circle...it's to see them crash.
Fox News gets high ratings because they CREATE controversy where none exists.
Meaning they make stuff up or exaggerate it to create a spectacle.
They've even been proven to make stuff up, and when they're caught, they blame it on "technical" errors.

As a common-sense based person, it's hard for me to believe that so many idiots would buy into their bullshit, without even looking at the facts, or doing any research, but rather take everything said as truth and for face value.

"A lie told often enough becomes the truth."

As far as MSNBC goes, they're competing for ratings. Monkey see; monkey do.
I bet you can guess where they got the idea that throwing hate around gets ratings.

I still like this slogan I saw, "FOX NEWS: Not racist, but #1 with racists"

Holy shit they are not objective! Seriously YOU NEED TO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Ratings prove absolutely nothing. I know quite a few people who watch Fox for the entertainment value alone. They watch it like a comedy show. It's sometimes funny to listen to all of the goddamned bullshit lies they tell and to see how crazy Glenn Beck is... until you realize there are people out there who actually buy this crap!

Not my stats kenny. I read your post then, not knowing what the numbers were, went to look for some.
I have no idea why people pay a premium to watch MSNBC. A lot of hatred in this country from the left perhaps they are capitalizing on that. A certain number of people will believe the sky is green if it were broadcast enough.
That network, Fox, CNN etc are free with my Direct TV. I would not pay a premium to watch any of them especially MSNBC.

From your posting name are you a fan of Dali? Did a quick search and found a minor explanation. He is described in various places as having an obsession with decay and a dual personality. Don't know, didn't know the man but it also seems that he is not unusual in that every person has a dual personality. One is described as an archaic, primitive, childlike, unadapted personality and the other is described as a modern, sophisticated, adult with an adapted personality. From our brief conversation it seems that you have become perpetually stuck in the former.
Although it is not germane to the issue and I include it only to illustrate that you have missed your mark by an exponential degree, I have had one beer in the past 6 months and never, ever eat Doritos. Beer I like but the Doritos have too many food additives. Please see some of JanforGore's posts to find out where I stand on non-organic farming/eating. Possibly your familiarity with the product lead you to include it here. Anyhow, since you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about why not re-insert your cranium in your rectum and continue your existence back in your happy place or do you want what's behind door number three over where Carol is standing?

I don't care much for Mathews or Olberman either (really don't like Olberman). But that does NOT mean I would watch FOX for my news. They really Are a bunch of Asses. Beck is Poison to the minds of weak and uneducated people and in my opinion is a Dangerous person to society.
I get my news locally for the most part or from the nightly national (ABC-NBC-CBS). But I think that By FAR the BEST Opinion news is John Stewart. I wouldn't care if FOX and MSNBC were both eliminated, I think the nation would be far better off without them. (I do kinda like Rachel though).

    • fox news's unbalanced reporting never made sense , they went out of there way to harp on nonsense issues , its one thing to be bias another thing if your bias is the basis of your existence , they have failed to act responsibly as a news organization , often providing the public with such spin on news stories that they were tantamount to outright lies.

They're plenty of people interested in seeing issues from their perspective but no one wants to be lied too or fed propaganda and the fact that they make themselves so transparent , just eats away at their credibility.

"Public Policy Polling (PPP) is an American Democratic Party-affiliated polling firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina.[1][2][3] PPP was founded in 2001 by businessman and Democratic pollster Dean Debnam, the firm's current president and chief executive officer.[1][4] The company's surveys use Interactive Voice Response (IVR), an automated questionnaire used by other polling firms such as SurveyUSA and Rasmussen Reports.[5]"
