A Kingsport man is accused of kidnapping his son-in-law, assaulting him, then trading his freedom for an Xbox 360 game system. Allen Begley told police that his boss and father-in-law, Joshua Seal, called him Sunday afternoon and told him he needed help moving a saw. Begley says that Seal and a co-worker, Bradley Marshall, then picked up Begley in Church Hill and drove him to Seal's Flooring on Regional Park Drive in Kingsport.

When they arrived at the business, Begley says the three men walked in, and Seal locked the door behind them. Begley says Seal then accused him of stealing $245 worth of rings from a job site, which he told Begley was jeopardizing his business. Begley told police that Seal then began assaulting him, while Marshall guarded the door. Begley says Seal demanded the money from him, at which time Begley told his father-in-law he didn't have the money. Seal then forced Begley to call friends and family to find someone that could give him the money.

Begley's mother-in-law, Linda Begley, told police she got a call from Allen Begley around 3:30 or 4:00 Sunday afternoon. She said he was upset and crying, and that he told her that he was in trouble. Linda Begley says she also spoke with Joshua Seal during the conversation, and that he told her he had already blacked Allen's eye and it would get a whole lot worse unless she brought the money.

Linda Begley then contacted a neighbor, who spoke with Seal on the phone. The neighbor told Seal he didn't have any money, but he had an Xbox 360 that is worth $400 to $500, which he would exchange for Allen Begley. Both sides then met at a convenience store, where they exchanged the video game system for Begley.

Begley later called police, who responded to the business where the incident took place. There, they found Joshua Seal and questioned him about what had happened. They then arrested Seal and contacted Bradley Marshall on the phone. Seal was arrested at the business, and Marshall turned himself in at the Justice Center. Both men are charged with Especially Aggravated Kidnapping.
