New Yorkers Welcome Planned Terror Attacks On Wall Street Banks

Image

I know I should be horrified by the comments to this New York Post story claiming that the FBI and NYPD are advising Wall Street banks that terrorists are planning to attack them, but on the other hand it does show just how despised the bankers are because of the never-ending fallout from their self-induced financial crisis. Here are some particularly choice examples:

Planning attacks against major wall street executives? When? Do they need housing and accommodations?

Shouldn’t we be referring to them as “superheroes” instead of terrorists? ANyone who has any dealing with US banks in the last few years would agree Im sure. The heads of US banks are the biggest criminal empire known to man.

    • What's fair is fair. We've been subject to legal economic terrorism for years. We've been stripped of our jobs, our homes, affordable health care, affordable education, and, many of us, the chance for a dignified retirement. Now the GOP is trying to "fix" the system by keeping tax breaks for the rich while cutting Social Security or worse, privatizing it.

When the banksters crashed the system in 2008, the public coffers were plundered to ensure they would survive. Well they are doing great but America as a whole is suffering. Why is that? The answer is simple. Wall Street is not investing in America anymore. For years they've been investing in corporations who have outsourced America jobs to Asia and Mexico which in turn encourages corporations to continue to outsource. They also get massive tax incentives from the US government despite the fact they don't need them--and guess who has to pick up the difference in lost revenue? This is the only way these pigs can make record profits during a deep recession.

Yet, much like former citizens of the Soviet Union, we tolerate this kind of repression. We feel powerless to change it because all the forces are arrayed against us. If some people are very negative about their feeling towards Wall Street, how can you blame them?

Still, Wall Street doesn't have to worry about a few angry bloggers. What they have to worry about is if those words turn to actions. Unfortunately for all of us, entrenched power rarely gives up without a serious fight, so I see some kind of violence as inevitable and no one will be pleased with the results.

    • So a doctor goes to see a mechanic about a problem he's been having with his car.
"It's just not driving the same, it makes a noise when I switch gears, and sometimes it cuts off when I'm at a stop light."
Well, the mechanic listens, and takes a look at the car. He says to the doctor, "I know exactly what the problem is. Come back tomorrow, and I'll have it all fixed up for you."
So, the doctor leaves, and comes back the following day.
To his amazement, the car is working perfectly. He's very pleased, and he asks the mechanic what he did. The mechanic tells him, "I changed the spark plugs, the battery, and changed the oil while I was at it."
Then he hands the doctor the bill, which is $10,000.
The doctor is Outraged! He asks the mechanic, "what is the meaning of this?!?!"
To which the mechanic replies, "Do you really believe a bandage and a splint cost $500, an aspirin costs $100, and seeing a doctor for 30 minutes cost $750?" LOL

      -
So, here's my idea. We do to Gold ManSacks, what the mechanic employed.
We unionize anyone and everyone who has any dealings with Gold ManSacks, and charge the bejezus out of them for everything. Parking, cab rides, food, money transportation, IT services, outside accounting services, anything purchased by higher-ups, say if they have a daughter who's getting married, we add on surplus charges and taxes.
We'll take back what is ours legally. It's not a crime to be paid what you are owed.
The argument will be localized inflation. The fact that they have so much money, brings down the worth of money in your local area, therefore, you need more money to provide services to them.

    • The bankers should be publicly humiliated, made to live in a large Plexiglas box without a lid.

Their survival would be dependent on the kindness of strangers giving them food to eat and cardboard for shelter.

    • Sorry no money in state budget to protect you.

Whats really bad is that Al-Qaeda probably doesn't want to off them because they know it would strengthen America.

It's more the state department is intending to use this to incriminate Wikileak supports ahead of the banding documents release.

But on the off chance it isn't maybe we could broker a peace deal if we hand these scum bags over with the permission to kill them slowly and publicly.

    • Terrorists could actually win the hearts & minds of Americans if they suicide bomb the people in charge of our money.

That's sad, you would think in a country of, by and for the people, we could handle our own shit before it gets so bad we are wishing terrorist could step up to the plate for us.

The founding fathers warned about banks as well.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
      Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed)
      3rd president of US (1743 - 1826)

With the massive foreclosures still happening why have the law makers ignored their warnings?

    • Come on, people! Doesn't anyone consider the fact that the terrorists hit the "WORLD TRADE CENTER" and "PENTAGON"?!!! The Muslim extremists are not attacking because they just don't like Americans or they hate freedom or liberty. The people all over the world are fed up with the dominance by the Corporate West through economic and military operations. This is not a war that can be fought in the deserts, but by targeting the very institutions that are responsible for the injustice and oppression. This beyond politics, this about the very truth of what humanity as a whole must overcome. The idea that we can put progress ahead of profits, thinking long term solutions rather than short term gratification. I don't want to see innocent people hurt in the process of ridding the world of these great evils, but down with Wall Street! Let them know the Federal Reserve is available as well!

That's what they get for shitting on America, then getting bailed out with TAXPAYER money, just to turn around and continue awarding themselves rather disgustingly large "bonuses". Of course people are pissed. These guys act like a million dollars is pocket change when most Americans will never see a million in their entire life.

I'm an engineer and will be lucky to top out at $100k a year with a really good company. How is it that bankers, CEO's, and stock sluts are all the richest people in the country, when highly educated and hard working people (who actually produce valuable services and goods) can only dream of making that kind of money?

Somethings gotta change, the financial sector should not be living in the kind of excess they are and acting like it's just business as usual while millions of Americans are struggling harder than ever just to make ends meet.

I hope something big happens. I don't want to encourage bloodshed, but these assholes have to have a wake-up call. People won't just stand back and watch these guys getting filthy rich while everyone else gets kicked out of their homes and loses their jobs.

People are a collection of personages. Individuals have: discovered the earth wasn't flat, discovered America, created ways to produce and transmit electricity, established one of the worlds greatest democracies, invented peanut butter, eradicated small pox, put a man on the moon, and continues to thrive and improve.
-With the exception of you. I suppose you've been living under a rock you're entire life.

To answer your question, "People" are held in such high regard because our health, happiness, security, and general happiness and well-being is defined and at times depends upon them.
Much as the chief pointed out in the clipping bundlebear posted.
Each member of the tribe served a function, and operated without the need for money.
Because of their efforts, well-being, security, etc, they thrived, survived, and prospered.

Why don't you go live in the woods by yourself for a year, without anyone else around.
Then look back on your life, and compare.
I'm sure you'll see just how important people are, and how much your take them for granted every day.

"i will gladly take whatever money you don't want." implies that you are in need of money and that more would make you happy. is it comforting to realize your well being is controlled by a foreign substance, that is ultimately controlled by a tiny group of immoral bigots?

You read too much into my comment. My comment implies no such thing. If you gave me your money I would use it to do more good works for the poor. Money does not make one happier. My well being is not dependent on "foreign substances."

Your comment assumes way too much. My comment implies no such thing. I am not in need of more. If you gave me yours I would do social good with it (feeding and sheltering the homeless). I am not naive enough to think that money will make anyone happier. My well being is not dependent on a "foreign substance."

Seeing how they have caused death and subversion of the Government it should be considered patriotic justice.

Which is why I pretty sure that Al-Qaeda is not targeting them.

This has more to do with the protesters who showed up at the Koch meeting where the overthrow of the government was being plotted.
