Arianna Huffington is planning to use AOL’s infrastructure to launch a major expansion of citizen journalism in advance of the 2012 presidential campaign, she tells me in an interview, sharing new details about her vision of expanded political coverage in the wake of the merger with AOL.

    • I've often wanted our elected officials (THEY WORK FOR US) to be outfitted with GPSs, video cameras, and audio devices, so we will know, 1st hand, how they do their work.

Obviously my "wants" are not practical. Arianna's idea may be the next best thing.

If the politicians won't tell us who gives them money or be honest about their political agendas then what better way is there than having citizen reporters sending information to a publicly accessible clearing house.

I think Arianna may be on to something.

It's entirely possible that AOL had better hold on to their hats like Current is having to do with KO in the mix.
