Colossal head-fake by Mubarak and his cabal... there is too much at stake here for them - billions of dollars worth of graft and supreme control of brutal "secret services". There's going to be a lot more blood shed ... only intervention by democracy sympathizers in the military will bring things to a quicker palatable solution, but there will also be Mubarak supporters in the army as well. See, this is where a "nation building" military intervention would work - where's Rumsfeld & Cheney when you really need 'em??! :) just kidding folks, just kidding...

I was waiting for this to happen. i trust that this information is true. The military must be for and by the people if this is going to be a democracy.

Mubarak just lit a fuse. I think his days are numbered and only more bloodshed will come from this. He's delusional.
