Matthis Chiroux is an active member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. He publicly refused orders to report to Iraq in a public news conference. He was honorably discharged and is currently near Fort Hood, Texas, working with Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment protesting their deployment to Afghanistan.
