The World's Drunkest Countries Revealed
The World Health Organization has just released a report about global alcohol consumption. The result shouldn't come as a surprise - our planet is hammered!
In the report there are many sad statistics, like about how alcohol is the leading cause of death worldwide for men 15-59. But there are also some cool stats and maps.
The map above shows which countries per person in 2005. It should come as no surprise that we Brits like our drinks a bit more than the Americans, but as you can see from the map below (which shows what type of booze is drunk where) we both favour beer over wine and spirits.
According to the report, Moldova is the world's drunkest country, with each resident downing about 17 litters of alcohol a year. Cheers!
